Is that allowed in Denmark? You needed more effective mass?

That's a nice cartridge. And an expensive one.
I also saw in one of your other video's that you also play with a Benz glider. That's also a nice cartridge, especially for the price (although also not exactly cheap). An old collegue of mine used to play with one (long time ago)

The Colibri has no problem producing some of the most difficult tracks (with the help of the rest of my system anyway). If some of you ever played Tchaikovsky 1812 overture you would know. |

Back in 1996 when vinyl was the only option, a dj named John Digweed was brought to Orlando, Florida to spin at Club Firestone. This marked the beginning of the European DJ's coming to the US. This is a special set from when I was 16. I don't think I was there that night, but I was at many clubs around there at that time, the good old days for me and my friends anyway.
I believe this has been remastered - it's quite nice, still relevant imo. https://soundcloud.com/john-digweed/...rlando-25-5-96 |

I can't remember the name of the joint but there were some pretty good raves there and of course if was off limits to us in the Navy but we went anyway. I wish I had more details and the name, but I know if I heard it I would remember. Was it Ultraviolet? Last edited by billnchristy; 06-12-2023 at 11:32 AM.. |

This is a photo of my entire current LP collection. My self-designed cabinet that I had made in the Philippines in 1982 had double this amount of LP storage and I think it was pretty full. (I also have 150 or so 45-rpm singles not stored in the cabinet.) The other LP storage in the cabinet is currently CD box sets and is full.
Later in 1982 I moved from the Philippines to Hawaii; when I arrived I discovered that one of the boxes of LPs had gotten wet and turned into a solid mass of mildew I put in a claim and got 50 cents on the dollar for the loss. If memory serves, that was one-third of my LP collection. But I was also into open-reel tape and had most of it on tape, so mostly did not replace the LPs. Fast forward to about 2002-2003 and I was preparing for the move from Maryland to Oregon and had a monster yard sale, including many records. It's been 20+ years, so my memory is slightly fuzzy, but I don't think I sold very many LPs. After arrival in Oregon, I did not unpack the records, but stored them in two cardboard boxes in more or less random order. Finally, after 20 years, I unpacked them this year, organized them and put them in the cabinet. But then I think wait a minute, what about such-and-such album? Where is that? Surely I didn't sell that at the yard sale! It's as if there is one box missing, but I've looked everywhere I can think of. It's a mystery -- maybe member Nazali has knowledge of some alien LP abductions? I do enjoy breaking out the vinyl every now and then, but am not about to buy any more LPs. It is what it is, I guess.

Are you still buying vinyl? I have also cut way down on buying music but only buy CDs these days.

I bought 5 out of the $3 bin a couple weeks ago and haven't listened to them yet.
Got Mike Oldfields second album practically brand new, An XTC EP, a compilation of music from an Albany NY radio station and two random unknown electronic singles. |

Yes, still buy vinyl, have stopped buying CDs a few years ago. Buy the odd digital download from Bandcamp in lossless format, otherwise have sold out to Spotify and have a family subscription. Ironically 320k seems to be the majority of my listening these days. Still waiting on Spotify to match Apple Music and Tidal streaming resolution. But can’t change providers without upsetting the household.
