I may have mentioned this before in the thread or another one but here's a short list of reasons why I want to get rid of it:

Windshield wipers are atrocious - They go off randomly, they're never fast enough in heavy rain and too fast in light rain. There needs to be more speed settings.
Navigation is horrific - Especially in NYC. On a daily basis it screws up traffic predictions and status. Always takes you on the worst route.
Uncomfortable - Way too stiff and they're some of the only seats that give me back pain
Supercharging sucks no matter how hard people cope about it. Charging at home and driving to work is fine but every time I drive long distances for a trip, supercharging sucks and is completely inconvenient. I have way better shit to do than hang out with a bunch of dorks for an hour at a Wawa. The worst is stopping at a supercharger during peak hours and you're getting like 15-25 mi/hr charge speeds - especially in the summer.
The autopilot is nowhere near as good as the one I tried on a Q8.
The interior is such garbage that it's depressing. It's not minimalism... it's trash.


Some good highlights about the car:

If you charge at home and are driving 1-200 miles per day (or less) then it's completely sensible.
No maintenance is great.
Low center of gravity so it does feel very well planted.
Extremely safe.
Great torque delivery on the highway.


I'm not saying they don't have a place or don't make sense for a lot of people but it's not for me - big regret getting one.

The Volvo Group today announced it's pending bankruptcy do to poor sales and pending litigation. Founded in 1927, Volvo made it's name in safe cars until it's decision to go all electric. The Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Chinese owner of Volvo) was not available for comment.

St. Lucie firefighters need 20,000 gallons of water on electric vehicle battery fire
June 2nd 2024

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla (CBS12) — An electric vehicle's battery caught fire and had to be put out by two Special Operation teams from the St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD).
The Special Operations teams sprang into action Sunday morning around 9:45 a.m. in response to a Nissan Leaf battery fire on the 5000 block of US1, according to SLCFD.
SLFCD reported that firefighters had to carefully move the car away from a building and its fuel tanks before they could effectively tackle the blaze.
Over 20,000 gallons of water were reportedly used to extinguish the battery fire successfully.

Moral of these stories is cars (and bus's) catch on fire, it's the world we live in. If you have a ice vehicle carry a fire extinguisher and if you have a EV or Hybrid carry auto insurance and if you have a bus send the bill to the tax payers.

It is so funny because I am a Canadian. It took more than 10 years to figure out Vancouver need a subway (we called it sky train) then it take another 5 years to build half of it (no funding) to build the rest. We need a new bridge (5 lanes each way) to replace the old and outdate tunnel that should be gone like year 2000. The project just keeping dropping by the city every few years until last year. They are finally agree to build but I have not seem any action as today.

I don't drive a EV, or planning to own one anytime soon. So I don't give a shit of what the city do. All I care is I can park my car in those parking lots if I need to
