Hats off to the Caps this year, they went through the toughest teams and made them look shameful at times..
They deserved it.. congrats.

Wouldn't mind Trotz behind the bench of the Flyers. Definitely an upgrade over Hak.
Quick Hexy, fire Hak and give Trotz some of that Comcast money!

They each have their merits - their is just no consistency among all the moves. Building today Vs long term, adding defense or offense, becoming younger or more seasoned.... so many mixed messages.

Hmmm, I don't think you got younger when you picked up Weber for Subban.

You know, Therrien is one of my favorite coaches of all time...sad that entitled players can't handle his discipline. Needless, I never understood what his beef was with Subban - people hate this guy for a reason. Yeah, lazy at times...extended shifts...but I'd take him over Weber any day of the week.

Therrien has one of the absolute best defensive zone breakouts under pressure - consisting of 5 to 6 short passes that require accuracy and speed. Now the Habs got Julian - have him, keep him, and you'll continue to suck.

Montreal is messed up - I don't see them coming out of the hole anytime soon. I'm okay with this...

LOL - Neither Granato or Laviolette were fighters, I think this would have been a hair pulling eye scratch if it would have continued past their word battle. Peirre probably had the best chance of coming out on top of this one...

Granato ran one hell of a PK - shocked he's not in the NHL coaching right now (he's with the Badgers).

He wanted elite coach money, Caps wouldn't give it to him.

I'll never be able to prove this, but I'm almost wondering if part of the reason the Capitals were able to win the cup was because Trotz took a lot more input his assistants during the playoffs than he did during the regular season. I saw the Caps do things with their lines and lineups that they never did during the regular season. Trotz is notorious for benching promising young talent (Vrana, Burakovsky), in favor of veterans regardless of how they're performing, the playoffs were a different story. Todd Reirden will likely take over and I can't say I'm sad about that. He's good.

Former Pittsburgh assistant...Caps grabbed him when Granato and him were let go during the Disco Dan era. Average at best...good luck with him (if that is their choice)

Ha I know. Kind of ironic that the guy holding Lavy back could throw down like the best of em. Heck of a fighter, not much of a coach though.

Best of luck to BT. He'll always be highly regarded in DC as the first coach to bring a cup. $5,000,000.00 per season was never going to work, that's lunacy.

If they don't have Tavares then it's going to be a looooong year for the Islanders.

Can't blame the guy for wanting some extra $$$. Doesn't count against the cap so pay the guy.

I hope Tavares goes elsewhere. Would make this offseason a little more interesting.
