Ok I've been holding these back for about a month until they were published in Petrolicious but I uploaded some today as they should be published today or tomorrow along with the owners story about the car.

This is not a captive hawk, but I had to back up to frame it. It was acting oddly and not flying away.

Great shot Dave. Hope it wasn't poisoned. It can be a problem when they eat poisoned rodents.

This would be a shame. We have a refuge for injured Hawks, Falcons and Eagles called Cedar Run in Medford NJ. In the past they have done a photography exhibit to raise money for the birds care. They would bring the birds out and set them up in a natural environment and we could take photos.

Mike and Ed, the sanctuary where I took this picture doesn't poison, but a hawk's territory can be quite large. This one down by the lakeside, so it might have eaten something that a fisherman through away.
