Went to an old Italian place that's been downtown for 40+ years, same basic menu.

Got there, and couldn't decide between 1) Veal parmigiana or 2) baked manicotti. Ordered (and drank) the first Chianti, then when the waitress returned, I told her I couldn't decide, so she would have to pick 1 or 2 (no description) She picked 2, and MAN, that was some comfort food! Metal tray all full of cheesy goodness, blacked on the edges where cheese just landed alone on the edge. Shells were just a bit softer than I like, I bet they boiled them first.

Went to a local hibachi last night, early special got NY steak for 21.95. I like Nigori, but never tried a peach one before. Interesting, will need a few more bottles to be sure
Our chef seemed to be an authentic, older Japanese man. He was the only one with “chef” on his hat.
While he gave us sauces, that steak was so good I didn’t even consider dipping
