I hold season tickets to both the Sounders and the Seahawks. The link you provided reads: Yeah, we fumbled that one! Doesn't look like there is anything here, but how about some of our other content? The stadium was built with noise in mind because the Kingdom was also very loud and they wanted an open air stadium that would retain the noise factor. You do know that Both the teams are owned by Paul Allen right? The only time the Seahawks were ever under threat of moving was when Ken Behring tried to take them to LA before Allen bought them in '97. That was a very real thing and much like the Sonics, Behring cited that he couldn't get a stadium deal so had to move the team. If anything it was Paul Allen and Mike Holmgren who saved the team nearly 20 years ago. The Hawks won the NFC west in '99 '04, '05, '07, '10 and '13 and the Sounders didn't start playing until '09. When the hell was this Saving supposed to have occurred?! What you are reading is that building a stadium that could eventually host soccer helped to get it built, I know I voted for the referendum. To make the jump that somehow the Sounders, who would arrive 10 years later, saved the Seahawks who at that point had been sold out for 6 consecutive years, is fictitious. For reference I toned down my response because in searching online I can see how one might get that impression. Keep in mind that the vast majority of the articles are written from a soccer supporter point of view and they would love to think of it happening that way. In truth the Sounders live in a huge shadow of the Seahawks in this town and is one of the reasons they made a bid this year to get their own stadium. That and the fact that Century Link doesn't have a good field for SOCCER. If you actually lived here and knew anything about the teams or the community you would realize that this is revisionist history. |

I was not really calling yourself a bandwagon fan if you live in the NW but these other clowns can lick Tom Bradys UGGs. And you can see that from what I have read the sounders are the Seahawks saving grace.... Why did a billionaire need public money for a stadium. Kraft paid 100 percent for foxboro no public monies

I was like "okay they gonna hand it off to Lynch and pound it in..." Then they went with a pick option and lost it all...now let's see if Seahawks still going to make Wilson the highest paid QB this off-season. Better team won though so no hard feelings.
