Naw, the only "drinking" I do is a glass of red at dinner for my heart. Seems to be working as the Dr who did my double CABG said my heart was just fine. I did enjoy rum, but my type 2 makes those days over.

This video is making the rounds. Pretty wild. I have to wonder if the driver was rubber necking at the accident on the opposite side of the highway or maybe had their face in their phone. It's not uncommon to see people run into vehicles that are involved in an accident or the vehicles stopped because of the accident, police cars, ambulances and firetrucks get hit quite often. You'll often see firetrucks set up to block traffic and protect the folks working on the existing accident. That was quite a spectacular example though.

That's what I asked in the other thread. I can't tell if the flatbed was in the left lane or on the shoulder. Either way, the norm is for a police vehicle to be behind with lights blazing. Again, she is to blame, probably had her face in her phone.

These are the radio's we had in the Scout Cars when I got on the job. The guts were in kept in the back and it was affectionally referred to as the junk in the trunk. The buttons P-priority call, that get you to the head of the line with the dispatcher, AD-accept detail, OS-out of service, IS-in service, I can't recall C2,S&IR, I don't think we used them.

Not that I PLAN to do anything that would warrant me needing this information, but IF an officer were to try and cuff me right now, I'd be in literal tears. Last night at shoulder therapy I could ALMOST pull my hand behind my back to my belt.

How could one communicate to an officer that I am recovering from shoulder surgery? Would they accommodate and put cuffs in front if I were cooperative in other ways?

In that hypothetical, they wouldn’t handcuff you to the front, however, the officers could consider double-handcuffing you behind the back to alleviate shoulder pressure.

What if I was commanded to get on my knees? I can do it but massive pain. if I'm not resisting any other way will they listen to that?

PS - never been arrested and don't expect to be. Most of my current sins involve eating the last cookie or coming home from golf needing a nap.

Unfortunately your pain threshold isn’t/wouldn’t be our concern. If it gets to the point that you’re being detained at gunpoint and being directed to drop down to your knees, you’ve done something horribly wrong.

^ And yet they found him guilty of negligent discharge of a firearm, IIRC.

Where did he get said firearm? From abusing an officer.

Case closed. . .

When I retire, I am going to do everything in my power to get called for jury duty as often as possible.
