I was around 6-feet away, with the 24-105mm racked out to 105mm and almost a 100% crop in post.

We had just a couple days of color on campus this week. By Monday most of it will be gone. Not that we had much to begin with.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately for the little guy, he came up empty. I did get a series of a different coyote that was more fortunate, but I'm having severe computer problems with my Photoshop machine at the moment , and dealing with trying to download an iso file for a clean OS install on a new drive. Ugh.
