Moderators, would you please change the title of this thread to “EV hate group: We hate EVs and will spin any story to EV hate”
Let’s call it what it is.

Maybe I should just stop visiting this thread, but the amount of blind hate is baffling. None of you need to own an EV. For those of us who do, you all come across as small minded and threatened by something that shouldn’t threaten you.
It’s incredibly simple. For many families, EVs represent a superior 2nd or 3rd vehicle. They’re reliable, cheap to operate and powerful.

You’re right about that!

That said, I’m passionate about cars and I have 7.5 years of EV ownership experience. I get it that EVs are NOT the best solution for everyone’s experience, but I also think that many of you are living out Green Eggs and Ham in real life.
EVs have become a political and environmental stance, but they’re just a car. A really fucking good technology that’s superior to ICE cars in many ways in my experience.

Seems like "Still want an EV?" has no restriction on posting positive articles on EV's assuming you have one?
There have been articles posted on the environmental damages of EV's.
There have been scientific articles posted showing the fallacy of anthropogenic global warming.
There have been articles showing the Grift of companies taking advantage of government EV programs.
There have been articles posted on the price of government pressure on the free market and the effect on consumers.
This is what is called push back on a stupid policy that will effect millions.

Since I have been driving my BigControlSystem for over a year I haven’t had to get gasoline. I finally had to pump gas again today (for my wife). Not a big deal. But, I don’t miss it. Really love home charging.

It may be photoshopped but the fact remains this is a reality. ICE vehicles towing or carrying ICE generators to recharge broken down EV's is a thing. Diesel powered generators running charge stations is a thing.

The meme might not be great but the hypocrisy is.

So do you think this is a huge part of charging EVs? With me charging my car at home I’m probably an edge case I guess the bulk of EV charging is diesel generators. I guess as it’s probably rare for someone to charge their vehicle at home or at a supercharger.

I get asked pretty regularly when I drive my car without a trailer with a diesel generator on how I get the electricity into it. Most people look at me pretty skeptically when I explain charging at home.

I went for a hike today then stopped at the grocery store on the way home. Saw a fellow Tesla driver (new looking Model 3). They were getting out of the car. I told them I also had a Tesla and asked why they didn't have a trailer with a diesel generator attached to their car. They said they just got rid of it last week and had a Tesla level 2 charger installed at home. I told them I also charge at home. We both nodded and processed the relative rarity of our situations.

Love your sarcastic sense of humor. No one thinks EV's are charged with diesel generators. That would be bad for the environment But lots of EV's are charged with natural gas and coal power plants so that must be good for the environment?

Had to check twice if this was USA Today. Somebody's going to get fired.
If you like your car, good luck keeping it. Bozo's EV mandate drives change people don't want.
In 2013, then-Barack O earned himself the “lie of the year” after he had repeatedly assured Americans, "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it."
That simply wasn’t true, and the rollout of Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) caused millions of people to receive cancellation notices. The government’s intrusion into the private health insurance market had major consequences, and many Americans weren’t happy about it.
More than 10 years later, President Joe Bozo is driving major disruptions in another major U.S. industry: automobiles.
Unlike his former boss, Bozo’s not even bothering to promise the American people that if they like their car, they can keep it.
Bozo, however, also is not being upfront with the public about what his new Environmental Protection Agency rule actually means.
As with most bureaucratic mumbo jumbo, the meaning is less than clear. I’ll translate: If you like your current gas-powered car, SUV or truck, too bad.
The final rule, which begins in earnest in 2027, demands that automakers quickly amp up production of electric vehicles. By 2032, the emissions standards dictate that roughly 70% of new vehicle sales be battery-powered electric or hybrids.
For comparison, EVs make up just under 8% of new car sales last year.
If automakers don’t fall in line, they risk hefty fines. (Fines passed on to the buying public)
It’s worth noting, too, that a switch to electric batteries is not a panacea for the climate. Mining and processing those materials take a toll ‒ something Bozo ignores.
Rather than go through Congress, where a robust public debate could take place, Bozo quietly did it through the rule-making process.
“It’s politically deceptive in a way that is all too typical of the Bozo administration in a lot of different areas,” says Meigs of the Manhattan Institute. “They have opted to make major policy changes out of sight of the average voter.”

Much of this stuff will get delayed or rolled back I suspect. This will mainly be out of fear in the House of Representatives who are on the hook every two years for severe stupidity.
