Quite a bit of difference, probably since there really isn't any sub 5.56 rounds. First time I shot them together it was hot 5.56 rounds that really didn't sound much suppressed and the 300BLK was significantly quieter but I might of been using 240g. Second time was using 75gr Hornady black in the 5.56 and sub 300 rounds and still a difference. I really need to do some more comparisons with all my different 300 sub rounds as there's a wide range of grains 180-220+. with the heavier weights I think there could be up to a 10db difference.

10 is noticeable. I run 55gr 5.56. rarely some 62gr. Just regular stuff like PMC Bronze, Winchester, Federal AE etc

When shooting subsonic I want the heaviest bullet I can get. At standard velocities I think 5.56 and 300blk are similar. At subsonic velocities I would much rather have the 300blk due to the bullet weight and kenetic energy.

Almost all ammo expected to go up 10% May 1st after the already 10% increase this year. Luckily I am well stocked but unfortunately cause I haven't had much time to shoot past few months.

Is that just where you live or is this something I haven't heard of?

Our distributor also told us ammo prices were going up so I ordered a bunch in February. (Federal and Winchester dealers)

I confess I am surprised. Unless all the manufacturers colluded some will undercut these two and prices will stay the same. But what do I know. I did not go to college.

I'll know come June when I request new price lists so I can set my budget for 2025's order. We usually order between $8-$12k of ammo every year.
We don't want to run into the problem we had with not being able to order 357sig for years so we're trying to stock up.

Will see if Federal, Hornady and Winchester went up.

What I heard is CCI-Federal-Rem (Same company Kinetic) said 10% increase May 1, Winchester which already raised prices this year expected to follow suit and match Kinetic increases, Magtech/S&B have said they will follow Kinetic increase, Priv Partizan have said 6-7% increase by June.

Who needs a stockpile of 357 SIG LOL, if that caliber is great then don't tell me as I don't need another new caliber...

OK I thought this was in response to some new law or whatever. If they are all just warning of price increases due to cost increases across the board THAT I can understand. Glad I probably have more ammo than I'll ever shoot.

I pity my wife if I die first. She will be unable to even move it let alone do anything with it.

I wouldn't be so sure. All she has to do is post it on here at fire sale rates and it will be gone faster than you could imagine.

I mean, I can't get it across the border, but better believe if there was a wicked deal on ammo that was in the calibres I want here in Canuckistan, I'd be jumping all over it.

You should be able to toss in a 357sig barrel into your usp compact or p2000 easily enough. If you can't find a factory barrel, RCM makes some good ones. I know they were the main one making 357 barrels for the VP40.

.357sig in my opinion is one of the best personal defense rounds ever. I only own one. It's a Sig P229 with a crimson trace grip. It never leaves my nightstand. It's my goto and while own many great pistols it is my fav.

I have the Glock 32 in .357sig. WAY too snappy for that little frame. I bought a .40 barrel for it and it's better.

I might like that caliber in a larger frame. I do have large hands and that also might make a difference.

I love that we are all different. I have owned one .40 and found it to be too snappy. I still own a .40 barrel for my 229 but never use it. Maybe the platform makes the difference. The 229
In .357 is awesome.

To be honest I really don't like the G32. Too small for my hands. The odd part is the G30 in .45ACP fits me fine. Just a little fat for CCW.

Oh well. I so rarely go strapped anywhere cause I live in an extremely safe environment. I know there are those who say it's never safe but the seriously low risk versus discomfort carrying makes it so I just don't. Maybe crime will migrate nearer me and I'll have to some day,
