This happened a decade ago. I went to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and somewhere along the way I got connected with a young guy. Anyway, we were sitting outside the exhibition hall and I guess we got to talking some about age. And hair color. I’m kind of a dark blonde, but definitely blonde, and that’s what I mainly see when I look in the mirror. I do definitely have gray at the temples and on the sides, but I still see mostly blonde. Anyway, I asked him what color hair he would describe my hair as and he said “gray”! Ugh!! I was shocked! That hurt my heart a little.

Okay, this is not looking good, because I cannot remember how we met. We must have started talking while looking at a car. Okay, now as I’m thinking, I was staying in a Detroit hostel and he must have either also been going to the auto show or somehow decided to go while I was there. Because, I’m remembering now we went to a bar and grill to eat after we left the show and on the way back to the hostel. Regardless, I can’t quite believe I can’t remember the details. You know you’re old when…

Sorry to hear that. Menopause didn't really change anything between me and my wife.

"Myth: Menopause ends your desire for sex.

The facts: Many women do report decreased sexual desire (libido) with menopause and the perimenopausal period leading up to it. Some women, however, report an increased libido while others report no change in their desire for sex."

Try a set of amber lenses. It makes a world of difference.

I looked into them a while ago and saw a bunch of negative reviews saying they really didn't make a difference. I'll check it out again.

I got mine quite a while ago from Randolph Engineering. https://www.randolphusa.com/

My dad wore that brand for ages. I love the bayonet temple bars as they slide easily under my motorcycle helmet. They are great in the fog, rain, snow and even in bright sunlight. Thet are not cheap but quality matters.

Good looking glasses but looking at the website, I don't see anything with amber lenses...

Me neither. I searched for amber, yellow, and night driving glasses

I guess amber is no longer available in the Aviator style but only in the Sportsman's. https://www.randolphusa.com/products...c813ec1f&_ss=c

You can always order the frame only and have your optometrist fit some quality opticals. Cheap sunglasses you buy at the pharmacy or dollar store are not good for your eyes.

It happened to me a couple of nights ago. It was raining heavily, and on a dark stretch of the HWY, I could not see the lines. Every time I noticed the lines, I was already halfway into the other lane . Good thing that there wasn't much traffic that night.

When I used to frequent traveling to FL, it amazed me how bright and reflective the paint they used for the road lines was. It didn't matter how dark or rainy it was, you could see those lines. I'm not sure why we don't have that paint here (NY/NJ) or wherever you are.

I agree!! I remember in Texas it was a pretty common experience to see the paint trucks putting down fresh stripes. Since I have lived in Chicago I can remember seeing it once and that was in a suburb.

edit: maybe the stereotypical Florida population has something to do with having high visibility stripes.

Southern states generally don't have to deal with snow plows scraping the roads or road salt eating away at the paint. Massachusetts had reflectors built into the lines on some roads, but they took a beating from the plows, too.

Over here, they paint the road lines with reflective orange paint when they are doing road work/construction.
I wish they just left them like that forever. The orange lines are so much brighter than the white lines that at night, you can see them clearly even when it's raining.
That paint can't be much more expensive than the white paint.

Here in SoCal the lines in the streets are pretty reflective. I have no problem seeing them at night. Of course I’m not driving in blizzards and snow storms so that may be the difference.

If you remember listening to her songs on the radio when they were new.

RIP, Melanie.

That’s true. You’d hope that would mean the snow states would be even more vigilant.
