Bumming around wearing a very special SMITHS vintage hand-winding *birthyear* watch all day today.
Didn't cost the earth, but means a great deal to me. Yours Aye Mark H

Spent some time washing a car today - never wear a watch while doing that, it'd be so easy to catch it on the paintwork
After the car washing I popped this one on:

For mid range watch say 1-5k am I better off getting used or from non AD like jomashop, chrono24, crown and caliber or similar. Side note found watch i really like but discovered its 20,700 euros, damn!

That really depends on the watch. I've seen some mid to high range watches selling used at close to new prices, while some certainly depreciate. Buying a popular Rolex for instance as a pre-owned item is a good way to own depreciation free. At present my watch box is full, but I reckon any future purchase will be pre-owned. The last watch I acquired was a pre-owned item, mainly because the watch in question is no longer made. My experience buying used was a good one and has definitely woken me up to the advantages Yours Aye Mark H

i cant seem to break the cycle. im either buying a new watch because i have room, or buying a new winder because i dont. i started buying my wife watches and a winder. she isnt an enthusiast by any means, but the way i see it, now she's complicit.
