I forgot a couple of simple things this week... the kind of things you don't really think about doing, you just do them. Made me think about it. Is this the beginning of senility? Haha, I don't think so but let's see if it continues or gets worse.

I'm probably overreacting a bit but it will make me pay more attention to my memory and the little things we all do every day that are routine and we really don't think about.

^ To add: it was more than something slipping my mind. I actually got confused for a second.

Without going in to detail, it's like you hear about that old person who goes to tie their shoes but forgets how and just sits there, confused.

At least I'm aware that it happened.

I left the side door of the garage unlocked again. Wifey noticed the red door status light was on and checked the doors. Is it a sign of getting old when you need a light to tell you if you forgot something routine?

My problem was not that I forgot to do something, but I forgot how to do it, actually a couple different things, but only for a second or two each time.

What sneaks up here is how soon the days start getting longer again. Yay!

I had one of those sock sliders. Worked great. Now I had my hip replaced and it's not needed.
Maybe it should go in the classified section.

Not to be real dramatic, but I think that’s a little bit of an issue. You should mention it to your doctor. Forgetting how to do a pretty routine task can be a harbinger of things to come. Just a second or two isn’t bad, but it did make me think of my neighbor’s husband as his dementia began. He would stand in front of the thermostat, but he could not remember how to adjust it.

Unless... There is still a small error that must be accounted for. To eliminate this error, the Gregorian calendar stipulates that a year that is evenly divisible by 100 (for example, 1900) is a leap year only if it is also evenly divisible by 400. For this reason, the following years are not leap years: 1700, 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200, 2300, 2500, 2600. This is because they are evenly divisible by 100 but not by 400.

Don't know if it's an issue or not but I will pay attention and see if I notice any more of those occasions. It has only happened a couple of times so far. I see my doctor next month for my 6 month visit and I'll tell her about it to see if she thinks any testing is required.

....when you used to watch American Bandstand when it was on live.

Not to be confused with watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve when he's be gone for years.
