First trip to Ortho Urgent Care to drain the knee and shoot up some cortisone.

Doc says nothing traumatic, “just” arthritis.

Yay.

Yeah, just arthritis can hurt like a bitch sometimes. I have it in my lower back. Hate it.

I get cortisone shots in my foot every few years for sinus tarsi syndrome. Also wear custom orthotics which help but need the shots every once in a while because the pain can build up and cortisone works wonders for me.

Me too, lower back. Doc calls it osteoarthritis. That's why I spend time in the spa every late afternoon.

I think that's Cher on an episode of The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour.

She could, and undoubtedly still can, do "innocent" with the best of them. I'm a huge fan of her wide range of talents.

I completely agree.

I suspect that Cher – Ms. Cherilyn Sarkisian – very carefully chose among the options available to her. Given what she had to offer, there must have been a great deal of them.

I saw Cher in an LA restaurant way back in the early 80s as she was making her way out after having eaten. As she passed a number of tables the diners looked up and clearly wanted to engage with her. She slowed her departure at each table and, from what I observed, engaged without effort with the people at those tables. She appeared to be a total class act.

Wow! She’s done a lot of movies! I’ve only seen two of them. I vaguely remember her in Silkwood (wouldn’t have remembered that one without seeing the list), but I remember her in Mask. That was a good one.

It is Cher, but not Sonny in the photo.

She and Sonny had a TV show in the '70 that was actually quite good (I think). My wife and I, and most of America, watched it every week. Sonny was a brilliant promoter. With limited vocal skills of his own, he made it work.

Little known fact: Sonny and Cher were called Caesar and Cleo at first.

And to keep my place on the lawn, I'll tell you I saw them live in 1964 when nobody knew who they were. They showed up at a dance club I used to go to. The DJ that owned the club was always bringing in new acts to get them exposure.

Oh yes, I remember the show well! I didn’t know about Caesar and Cleo! It was her mouth that made me think of Celine. As I mentioned, my first thought was Cher, but I’ve never seen Cher’s mouth look quite like that and it definitely has similarities to Celine in that particular shot.

Celine Dion is 22 years younger than Cher. I think she would have been an infant around the time that pic was taken.

Not enough as far as I’m concerned. Honestly, I think she’s been very good in movies. I think the right part in the right movie could’ve won her an Academy Award.
