That being said, wicked shot!
That was the 24-105. My next big purchase has to be some long glass. I saw a nice deal on a 300mm F4L the other day, but 1) I don't have the money now, and 2) I think a single 300mm prime would be too restricting. I'm aiming for the 70-200mm F4L IS and maybe a 1.4x TC.

And thanks.

I think you'd appreciate the 70-200 a lot more at this point and time, and the TC will help.

if you're shooting sports and wildlife, then the 300mm would be the one I recommend.

besides, 280mm (200 plus TC) on a crop body is considerable.

No, the snow's gone right now; however, that was near the water and I used +1/3EV.

Thanks. I looked at it at 100% and think that's a feather or something on its talons.

And why hide the EXIF data?

I have a friend that used to hide her EXIF and when I asked about that she said something about she wanted people to focus on her subject and composition. She thought that f-stops, shutter speed, ISO, etc. detracted from appreciation of her "art." After I pointed out that it was educational for some aspiring photogs to see what she was doing, she exposed her EXIF for a few days and then took it back down. Here recently she's started showing it again.

I guess that some people really agonize over this stuff.

When I learn the extent to which some people PP, I then wonder how useful the EXIF is, since the PS work may have become more important than the original shot.

Very true. Using the same settings from EXIF does not in any way guarantee the same results. My last image here was a tad underexposed in some areas, so I cleaned it up in post. Using the EXIF settings would only get you the underexposed shot.

Interesting observation. I ETTR (expose to the right), as most of you know, and shoot in RAW and then in RAW conversion to jpeg or tiff I apply my own S-curve, raise contrast (both of which darken the image) and then, finally, adjust the brightness level (it can go either way, because of the already darkened image from the untouched RAW).

If someone takes my EXIF and uses it to generate in-camera jpegs, they'll be very dissappointed in the washed out images they'll get.

Cuz the TD Garden prohibits DSLR, I put on my 35mm f/1.8mm. When I PP it automatically removes the exif.
I shot it at
D7000
f/4
ISO 1600 or 3200

Don't know which software you're using, but you can probably set the Preferences to retain EXIF. There could be a time when you'll need it.
