My dentist was very good and I never developed any fear of going to the dentist. He gave us cheap little rings that turned your finger green.

I'm older than dirt and missed one - Blackjack gum.

Loved the soda machines with the glass bottles. Icy cold. Oh, and Boone's Farm.

Served in your car via a tray hanging off the window.

Maybe with some French fries.

Unfortunately I remember all of these.

Soda machines had the bottle opener on the front or you needed a bottle cap opener. Under side of the cap was lined with cork.

The only one I didn’t really remember was Boone’s Farm. Some I didn’t have direct experience with, but I remember. I think Studebaker was gone by the time I arrived, but I remember them because of my dad. I don’t think I ever had Blackjack gum, but I remember it. I remember Butch wax, but I was more of the Brylcreem generation. I never had a party line, but I have a cousin who did. I’m not sure what these soda pop machines are. I’m from the south and I do very clearly remember having coke machines that sound the same. I remember them being a dime very clearly, but I think I have some recollection of them maybe being a nickel. I had forgotten about the cork liner under the bottle top.

This old Studebaker dealership is about a block from my condo in Chicago. It’s an LA Fitness now.

My dad drove Studebakers exclusively until 1963 when they ceased production. In my time we had a 1947 and a 1955. Both were Commanders.

I partook of everything on the list with the exception of Butch Wax (I was a Brylcreem guy.. "a little dab will do you"); Blackjack Gum (yuck); and Home Economics (guys didn't take Home Ec!!!).
