Unusual light. I like the composition, but I'd probably crop out that tree to the extreme right.

No way they'll ever let that booger die. Still, I need to go by there again and update my crappy shot from decades ago.

This is roughly the shot you would get with a cell phone trying to get the birds nest, while maintaining a respectable distance

Is that Chernobyl or Detroit? Hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Those would be 2 BD/1 BA bungalows, right?

LoL, not quite that bad. They are newer smallish 3 and 4 bedroom builder homes. They are trying to develop a lot of the island since the Navy left.

Man, you guys are such good photographers. I don't even need to buy thousands of dollars of camera equipment... if you all keep posting these photos I'll just keep lurking around here. Hope you don't mind... LOL

Despite all the talk about, "it's the photographer, not the equipment", I suspect that the average poster here has a substantial four-figure investment in their rig. I carry around $15,000 to $20,000, but that's inflated greatly by my 500/f4 super-tele. Even without that, I'm in the high four-figures.

Some fabulous images posted on here. I especially love 'The Lone Cypress' and The Hare on The Railway.

How about Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland's most photographed castle.
I love shooting during the blue hour and this was taken after a day of heavy rain just as the clouds were lifting off the background mountains.

Nicely done. The weather really adds to the scene.

Explored, and I was actually a bit miffed as it turned way short of where I was expecting it too. And then the B-24 flew behind me, LoL.

Nice shot, Ed. As I commented on your Flickr site, great DR and detail.

This is a 5 shot HDR spread from Roosevelt Island. Processed in PS HDR Pro. Looks a bit crunchy here, but check out the full image on Flickr.
