That's not bad for California.

Agreed.
The faux Mediterranean is also "classic", in a perverse California way.

Yes, I think you did.
For archetectural shooting you really need to be aware of it and it's natural not to think of it. Also, a water horizon must be level. Of course, any rule can be broken, but if you break this one you need to do it to a high degree so that everyone knows that you meant to do it. Dave

I missed this one earlier. Very nice. The really thick haze gave you a great sun ball and the tree is perfectly placed.

Thanks, Dave. It was gorgeous going by that spot again tonight, but I was delivering take-out Indian to Wifey and needed to press on home. As I stand taking pics of that copse (which I've done a few times) there is a farmhouse directly behind me. The people there must think I'm a Druid or something.

missed my chance at Aurora Borealis tonight
Was driving home from visiting my dad and I decided not to bring my camera..... and of course as I'm driving along the 401 tonight I see off the the north faint features of the Aurora.... by the time I got to my place, there was a light cloud cover that completely hid the effect, so I didn't get a chance to go back out with a tripod to shoot it. It doesn't get many colours in it where I am. But it still happens. |

It seems like a lot of fabric to deal with. But at the same time, it's a popular option at the moment. |

Here's another shot through the Zeiss 50/1.4 ZE this time @ f/1.4: IMG_4987 by mkrepp, on Flickr Wow, is it difficult to manually focus with such narrow depth of field. |

neat shot, and not a bad job focusing
The hair pulling is the best part about watches......... Actually, I've been lucky in the past, I've only had one really bad watch for that. And after it's removed most of the hair from your wrist, it doesn't do it anymore That watch is now too small for me as it was the one I wore as a teenager, so it's not really a problem anymore. I'm undecided if I want to take the plunge on a Nato, but I have the perfect watch for it if I ever do. Time will tell. |
