Hey! All the above comments about my family pic... are true.

Check out the piano legs, and what's on that appetizer plate?
"Would you like a Whiskey Sour, or a Manhattan?"
And yes, the "stereo" was rococo just like that one.

Matthew wasn't the smartest.
When I was 12 or so, I built a go-cart pretty much just like that from a broken go-cart frame a friend gave me. The right front spindle was broken off. I fabbed one from an old Schwinn fork I had. My dad had a friend in PA with a full home fabrication shop (he built boats). We took the frame up in my Dad's '72 Mercury Marquis (it fit in the trunk) along with my parts (the fork and a bunch of 1/2-inch bolts) and fabbed the repair with the help of my Dad's friend.

I engine'd the thing with a big-ass McCullough (50cc I'm guessing now) chainsaw engine from an old chainsaw we had. Took a while to find a centripetal clutch that fit the engine and ran go-cart drive chain. Probably the 1st 2-stroke go-cart in history
Back in the day the McCulloch engines were quite popular on racing carts. I remember one in particular that had twin McCulloch 101s on it. Super fast! A place I use to get my Sunoco racing fuel from built one with a 3 cylinder Kawasaki 500 2 stroke engine in it. It was insane.

If I remember correctly, most go-carts in my nabe had 2 1/2 hp lawn mower engines.
Then Artie got a 3 1/2 hp engine....

You beat me to that! My grandmother had a similar couch wrapped in clear plastic, and we took it out of her house using a shop vac because the couch dry-rotted so bad under the plastic!

Bonus points if you can put your hands on the 45 RPM today. Mine (along with Disco Duck) is out in the garage, collecting dust next to my record player.

Long live vinyl!!!!!

Whoah! That is the exact piece of furniture/stereo that I mentioned in one of my previous posts regarding my father recording 8-tracks from vinyl. A flood of childhood memories just beat me about the head. Wow.

After reading everyone else's post, these may have been standard issue back then.

Reminds me of when you got a cheesy, but real toy in Cracker Jack's. Now it is a sticker or lick & stick tattoo.

You do realize a good mold, regardless of where it's produced, can yield the same product, right?
