Macs are constantly a challenge in the enterprise.. compatibilty issues out the wazoo. Love the hardware and would use it for personal stuff, but damn if it's not a PITA to figure out work arounds for business use. I had a MBP and gave it up for a Lenovo because I got fed up with 'hacks'.

I tried using a Mac and I just plain don't like the setup of them. I prefer PC's for the pure compantability with everything and I feel it is easier to navigate through.

What I have notice is Apple has a cult following and does BMW so it does not surprise that many people who buy BMW also buys Apple, they have a lot in common.

For work, PC. Mature, proven, enterprise-class toolsets for administering Macs dont seem to exist, and when your ERP vendor sez we will not support you if you run the client on a MAC, even in PC emulation mode, well thats the end of that.
For play, Nexus 7 running Android 4.1. Apple-like performance, stability, UI elegance, malware-resistance. PC-like cost. To me, Macs are more like, say, Spyker, than BMW. Too expensive for the performance you get. |

Macs are primarily used for multimedia work, yes, but 99% of everything else is done on a PC. The world is run by PC's and most of the services you get on your Apple devices are run from PC servers that run Windows, Unix and Linux. Apple's business model is focused on end users and experience, more the front end device and not the back end Enterprise. That's also why there are so many compatibility issues when using Macs in a corp environment.
Don't take my word for it, just read almost every post in this thread of people with Macs. |

Multimedia? MAC
Everything else? PC I can understand that people with little knowledge choose mac, and those who buy it for the status :P But it still doesnt offer better performance/price ratio compared to a PC. |

Compatibility issues? if installing stuff on windows is difficult, then yes, you qualify as someone with "little knowledge" lol +1 Most specialized software for industry and the likes are made for windows, they can't do that on macs!
