And now the sun is shining bright. Everything will be dry before the temps drop.

All I can say is BRRRRRRRRRR. Holy shit it's cold out. I broke my rule about warming up the car this morning. Started it up and went back inside for about 5 minutes. Drove the 5 miles to the highway (35 mph roads) and I was still barely registering 160 on the temp gauge.

The struggle is ‘reel’ here. 48 degrees now but sunny at least.
Here’s a 2012 flashback:

I assume that is in fahrenheit?
It was negative 23C here (about negative 33 if you factor the windchill), so I was just converting that to Fahrenheit and it comes out pretty much the same...about negative 10F actual temperature, or with the wind, negative 27F. |

I can't really complain too much about loss of power. I learned long ago to try to live close to a hospital for a multitude of reasons; one of which being that if you are on the same power grid as the hospital (which is many of the times the same grid as the police department) you'll have your power restored as a priority.

Feels like -15 out there. Glad I don't use mass transit anymore! I shiver at the thought of waiting on the (elevated outdoor) 125th Street subway platform at Broadway in this brutal cold.

I'm with you. I do not miss public transportation. Real world problems = heated seats and steering wheel take too long to heat up.

Tried to shoot some eclipse pictures last night but nearly got frostbite on my fingers in just a few minutes. Can't work the camera with gloves, can't go without gloves without risking frostbite. So much for pictures. Too damn cold.

The room had AC and in the morning I stepped out onto the balcony to take few pics of the river. Camera lens kept fogging up instantly. Didn't have time to wait for it to adjust to the conditions. So much for the pictures. Too damn humid. Last edited by PA135ii; 01-21-2019 at 12:48 PM.. |
