From what everyone at the dealerswhip tells me there is no way to remove the limiter. when they had to order a new ECU for mine a while back they did make sure it had the upper limit set to it. 150 MPH is better than the 130 it had.

Silly Question since I don't have any Dinan products. can I have the turbo conjucted with the upgrades I have ?!
does it have to do with what octane I use also ?! dp, JB4, intake ect.

You can use the turbo if you wanted with your mods. You would just be utilizing your own tuning method (JB4) and therefore would not have the warranty coverage is all.

Stage 3 development (intercooler stage) has been completed and is just going through the internal paperwork process I assume. Stage 4 (big turbo) development is currently going through endurance / environmental testing the last I saw.
Updated the first post as well but the big turbos are now CARB approved (50 state legal). Last edited by Dinan_Engineering; 05-12-2016 at 11:10 AM.. |

So with this upgrade why is Dinan not recommending the upgrade of internals on the N20 engine along with the cylinder head? These 2 issues are well documented for the N20 engine. Anyone wanting to pay for this big turbo upgrade should build the bottom end of the motor and also see what options they have for the cylinder head as max TQ at 340 cracks the heads as well!!!!

first - they dont claim tons of torque from this upgrade and using 8AT you dont need it indeed, bigger turbo will continue generate torque at high rpm - thats where power comes from.
second - i've heard about cracked head only once, maybe you have more information about it? third - anyone heard about grenading n20 using flash tunes not piggyback boxes? Quote:

I know of 3 that have cracked the head and grenade the rods at around 340 to 350 trq. 1 of which is a friend. The reason you don't see this anymore is that all the tunes limit the trq to around 320 to 330 area which is safe. ECU flash is best as it includes all safety parameters that a factory ECU has. I am making a post to include all the possible ECU flashes for our cars as there is not a concise data or consolidated list for someone to look at.
