Dunno if this is too sappy or not, but shit changed at 15 when my mom died from stomach cancer. She had breast cancer twice, mastectomy of her left breast, and suffered at home until she passed from the stomach cancer. I'm 25 now. Still can't really get over that shit.

My wife and I decided to watch the Grammys the other night. I kept asking her who are all these people. She kept replying "I have no idea".

This. I saw some celebrity basketball game on TV the other day and had no clue who any of the celebrities were. I couldn't name a Top 40 song today if my life depended on it.

Late 20's. I ran into a coworker in the grocery store with his kids. The coworker was in his 40's and the kids were <10. When he introduced me to them, he said "Boys, this is Mr. other_evolved" and, at that point, I realized that those kids look at me like I'm old.
I'm 31 now, married with a 1.5 year old son, and I still feel like kind of a big kid with adult responsibilities in many cases, though, lol.

Speaking of eyesight... I am blessed, fortunate, however you want to put it, to have never needed glasses. I started getting eye exams when I turned 40 (5yrs ago). To this day, I am still seeing 20/20. However, my Dr gave or made a great example for me that was pretty astonishing: He said, "you know the difference between High Definition and Standard Definition right?" He proceeded to switch those lenses you look through while sitting in the chair. And low and behold, the letters that I could indeed read, were made noticeably sharper with the lenses! He explained that when you turn 40, no matter how great or perfect your vision has been, it starts to decline significantly! Not only far but near as well. He also explained that prolonged use of computers and cell texting or reading, worsens things. So I now have 2 pairs of 'optional glasses': reading & driving. The driving ones have made a huge improvement especially at night as they are anti-glare. And looking at my phone or typing like now, wearing my reading glasses is indeed like HD. But also things like glaucoma and astigmatism could be a issue without realizing it. Definitely, do not neglect your eyes. If you have not done so, get to a Optometrist asap. Especially those of you like me over 40.

I was definitely "forced to grow up early". I don't walk around like i know it all. I dont't act like an asshole. But due to all the shit i went through growing up, i built a very thick skin and a strong mind. This comes off to Women as me being overly arrogant, cocky and a douche. I tell them to fuck off. These Women are so used to dealing with weak men who will do anything for them.

I think I went from feeling "young" to feeling that I'd turned the corner into more mature at around 31/32,

30 here... my girlfriend and I went to blizzard beach for the weekend a few months back. I remember I've always loved the tall, straight down, fast slide... its scary even to this day. When I went down the slide I guess I kept my legs locked so the force of the water compressed my spine when I went to the slow down area. My upper back was completely locked up. I couldn't get out of the slide for about 30 seconds.
As I stood up I was greeted by my girlfriend who had enjoyed her slide down before me and a larger African American lady saying "ooooo uhuh, he hurt... I aint going on that shit" It was that day I asked myself.... "Am I getting old?" |

Get after it Mark! I'm 52, quit smoking 20 years ago, run 12-15 miles a week and feel great. Resting heart rate in the mid 50's. It doesn't take a lot but you know the old saying, use it or lose it!
I still enjoy my whisky and wine along with the occasional cigar however. A man has to have his vices!

Sip of drink, sip of water. Keeps you from drinking too much while at the same time, beefs up your hydration stores the alcohol is going to rob from you while you sleep.

You will be ok. Your new attitude about getting this done, understanding what is important, and work ethic will put you head and shoulders above your peers when you face them in the work force. Trust me on this. I know. Cheers-mk |

No, no they don't. They don't "want" you. You're broken. They want to fix you. Think "drama" is misery? Wait till you think you've found something and then the day you realize what's really going on. That's worse than "drama". You're still an amateur at this...but you'll get it.

Also> Pre-hydrate with Two glasses of water before the first drink. One glass of water to one glass of alcohol, thereafter. It helps but the alcohol has to metabolize. Cheers-mk |
