Awesome build, you planning on doing some preventative maintenance? Like rod bearings for example?

This is incredible, love the creativity

Looking at those headers, It has got to be a PITA bolting them up

Congrats on an amazing project! Subbed for updates.

Traded in my 08 M6 for my current M3. That engine/exhaust note is something I'll never forget; in fact I hope to have another one some day that I'll never get rid of. Can't imagine what it will feel like in a car that small!

I sincerely want to honor and acknowledge you for taking on a REAL project! I want to vomit when I see the typical responses - WOW! BAM! AW SHUCKS! THAT'S COOL, BATMAN! CONGRATS! crap that gets posted and passes for real acknowledgement of no more than a black kidney grill or something simple. Sorry, I feel it's very shallow and unsophisticated. I admire when someone really steps up (and into it, ugh!) as you have. You're a player! WOO-HOO! Having had Porsches and BMW's and been in the clubs for years, I've observed Porsche guys able to get into technical stuff and make lots of modifications, but with BMW's it seems different, much more difficult/impossible to modify; I suspect that is d/t the way BMW builds things, not as easy to make a modification. No issues, just different. I guess I'm tired of the typical BMW modification being wheels, tires, and trim (WOW, that's FANTASTIC!) - not the serious stuff like you are doing. And I'll be the first to admit, I haven't done it either, that's why no criticism's to anybody/anyone. I seriously love to see the real stuff you are doing. Keep it up, and I want to see the finished product. I can't fit in the M Coupe d/t height.

This is such a cool project !! I was waiting to see if that beauty of a V10 could fit!

The custom long tube exhaust headers you had made look like pieces of art!

Keep those pictures and information coming! Cool idea, excellent work !

Happy Motoring!

Awesome work OP! Take lots of foresight and creativity to make such a transplant work. How does it sound with the custom exhaust?? If not up and running yet, look forward to further updates!

Just before I finished my E46 M3 GTR build, I was thinking of my next project car which should merge my love to the Z3///M and the strongest NON turbo blown engine, the ///M GmbH ever constructed.
Since I already own a S54 Z3///M Roadster, the mission was clear:

BMW Z3///M V10 S85 Coupe

The basic for my project:

Attachment 1255795

Attachment 1255796

Attachment 1255797

So get out of here, old S54:

Attachment 1255798

And go for S85!

Attachment 1255799

Manual transmission from the US M5, for classic Z3M feeling

Attachment 1255800

Original M5 oil and water cooler

Attachment 1255801

Attachment 1255802

Big brakes with Movit calipers and special 365x34 rotors

Attachment 1255803

As the brakes doesn't even fit my old 18" BBS LM, I got some BBS E88.
I love them!!!!

Attachment 1255804

Attachment 1255805

Because there was some trouble with the steering rack, Jäger Metall welded a whole new exhaust system for me. 42mm (instead of 38) long tube headers, original cat and nice silencers:

Attachment 1255806

Attachment 1255807

Attachment 1255808

gear oil cooling under the left headlight:

Attachment 1255809

Time to put some wires in there!

Attachment 1255810

Attachment 1255811

It's taking shape!

Attachment 1255812

Attachment 1255813

Hope you like the build
Still some time to roll out, but I will hurry up

kind regards
Fabi
I own an E60 M5 and used to own a 1999 Z3 M Coupe with the 240hp engine. The Z3M was a handful even with that engine. I can't imagine more than doubling the HP and 40% more torque. I am sort of terrified, curious and jealous all in one.

Ugh... I'm honestly just speechless. You made it look like the whole thing just dropped right in there with the exception of the brace for the radiators lol

My ultimate dream is to own a huge warehouse with all types of (old and new) BMW's & Porsches, and abundant amount of parts so I can Frankenstein things till the day I can't.

Huge props dude, would love to see this magnitude take course beyond what you already did (ie. suspension upgrades, interior fabrication - allow for all controls and gauges to properly work without looking like a Christmas tree)

wow congrats on the awesome build! This is a serious technical challenge. i can't believe you got that motor in there!! incredible. are you going to use the DSC system from the M5? you are going to want some stability/traction control i bet. this car is going to be absolutely bonkers crazy to drive! i am excited to see the final product. again, great job so far!!

Haha du bist ja verrückt!

But honestly, great idea! Can't wait to see the final result. Im so happy you took the S85 and not the S65, the V10 is just brutal. How much will the car weigh with that block, around 15xx kg? And what do you expect the weight balance will be? Do you plan any traction control? Well, I hope the best for you and your build.

Great build! Congratulations! One of my favorite engines ever built and in that MCoupe body it must haul ass. How do you get the weighting equal? Cement blocks?

That's amazing. It's the grown up equivalent of strapping a jet engine to a go-kart.
Fabrication work looks good, exhausts look good too, looks like you've still maximised the ground clearance.
