Doesn't involve private jets or yachts but... quite some time ago, when HP was the principle sponsor of the BMW/Williams team, I was invited to Indy for the F1 race because I was a primary contact with my company when it came to HP servers. We bought 1000s per year at the time. We even had our own SKUs.
So... HP offered me VIP passes to their hospitality suite. Like most of you, I'm guessing, I can't accept gifts over a certain amount from vendors. I said I'd love to but declined and told them why. They were super cool about it and said... "We can invoice you, specifically and personally, for the "value" of the perks. So they did... and I went. They ended up invoicing me like $700-ish for three hotel nights, dinner and VIP treatment at the track. For which I gave them a personal check. No way it was market value... Just whatever number they came up with as a price, even though none were actually sold at that. So... to get to the point... We stayed downtown, not sure where but we had a whole bag of F1/BMW/Williams swag awaiting us at the front desk when we arrived on Friday. Concierge level at the hotel. Free everything. This is where is gets good... we were shuttled to and from the track every day in BMW/Williams liveried minivans with full police escort. We just rolled through every intersection and they went right to the elevators behind the pits to take us up to the luxury boxes. Back and forth, every day... police escort. It wasn't just BMW/Williams though... apparently all the teams VIP guests were in a "convoy". So... we got the suite above the pits. Food and drink was uh... not ballpark. Lobster salad, prime rib, all the champagne you could drink. ...and... Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld were the drivers at the time and came up before and after each session to hang out and talk. We also got to hang out with Steve Matchett at St. Elmo downtown on Saturday night and chit chat, ask questions, etc. |

I used to ride in the back of a pickup truck as a kid. Does that count?

I still remember riding with my uncle in a pickup, with 3-4 cousins between us. We went around a corner, the door opened, and suddenly I was running beside the truck. "GET back in HERE!" was all I got, no reduction in speed |

Been on about 10-12 trips in private jet from Burbank to Vegas all hosted by the hotel through my gambling friend. They treat you really well throughout the whole trip. Usually they take you in a limo and occasionally on Rolls/Maybach from the private terminal to the hotel. Unlimited boost and food in any levels we choose (in direct relation to my friend's play times and average bet size).
Don't have that kind of dough myself for trips like that, but it was really something to remember. I guess the next best thing from that is traveling to the hotel directly in a helicopter. Would love to try some luxu yacht and international private jet. |

Not much traveling "in style," but certainly staying "in style" at the destination. Why waste money on first class when you can spend it on a fancier hotel? Some hotels I've stayed at, namely in Vancouver, have Bentley or at least 7-series BMW chauffer cars for when you're too lazy to walk 10 mins to your destination.

Nice hotels around $500/night is doable for a lot of incomes. First class international flights? not so much. Only time I ever flew first class was from Taipei to Tokyo. We were running late for our flight and they upgraded us to first class. I was about 22 at the time and felt a bit weird sitting next to some VIP businessman. All the other times, I try to find the cheapest available seat and "deal" with it for a few hours. One trip to Taiwan, I did randomly find some shuttle service to take me to the hotel. The guy goes out to get his car and it's an S class Benz. When the average college graduate income is $1500/mo, getting taken to the hotel in an S class benz felt like it was a Rolls, haha We definitely used him as a shuttle to return to the airport, haha. Always best to take your show on the road. Or to the cosmos in your case.

Never flown first class. That's something I would like to do at least once (on a long haul) before I die. Hotels is where I tend to splurge. My brother in law worked for Marriott for a number of years so I have stayed at several Ritz's and JW's for $80-$100/night.
