No doubt that new hosts are great but for me, no more Top Gear. I can understand the marketing stuffs and things, however I prefer they change the show title so I can watch it without the feeling hanging in my mind.

I wanna chime in since TV/Film is the business I work in. But these are just my opinions,
The Original Top Gear show had outstanding production value. From the Producers, writers, first unit down to the person that got Jeremy his coffee and smokes. All of them could and probably do work on high level feature films worldwide. Top Gear was beautiful to watch and that's what separated it from 5th gear and others. I liked the three hosts but really, 3 humorous people from this very website could have done the show with that much talent supporting them. If the production team stays in tact, but we know Andy Wilman is gone, it may be really good. All three hosts are capable and entertaining. For me, it depends on the writing and production. Will these three have anything great to say or do? We know they can drive. So can Tiff. |

It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. Chris is good to watch in 10-15 minute reviews once every couple weeks, the show Drive has on TV with Chris Harris is extremely boring.
Personally, I think Chris should have stayed where he is. I hope I'm wrong!

Chris Harris - wow i am impressed!
Sabine - she is a great driver but not a good show host, I have seen her many times on german televison, she overacts to much. Also she has a terrible accent in english. |

Not quite sure how I feel about this.
Top Gear is entertainment. It's not for serious automotive journalism - it's for sh*ts and giggles. I'm not quite sure any trio of presenters will ever be able to hold a candle to Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Not because they were renowned reviewers, but b/c they had a unique chemistry that was made for entertainment. I think CH should just keep doing what he is doing - genuine solo reviews by himself. |

I hope they get rid of the stupid comparisons like an F16 fighter jet and a car. Just review cars and drive them. Stop with the ridiculousness.

Even though I'll still be torrenting their new show from Amazon, I'll tune in once and a while to Top Gear

I will be watching this just because of Sabine.
She definitely knows how to drive!

Well this is a HUGE boon for gearheads everywhere...we now have what is likely to be TWO world-class shows to entertain and inform! Not sure how Sabine's "humor" will make it across the screen, as German humor is quite different from the sarcastic British humor that Brits and Americans love. However, being more talented drivers, you'll get unfiltered opinions. I got the sense from Clarkson, Hammond and May that the real reviewers/staff with better driving skills were doing the testing behind the scenes and the trio were just the journos who could translate those opinions in a funny digestible way that would appeal to larger audiences.
Gotta hand it to Harris though, the guy has worked extremely hard as a journalist and as a driver (took lots of lessons and eventually entered racing competitions). He slogged though some painful Drive videos with that guy with the long hair doing excruciating interviews but always was willing to play ball and took a lot of time increasing his exposure via multiple avenues (like taking his brand new E92 M3 in the rain on the Nurburgring and even getting in trouble with Ferrari!). Talk about a success story and goes to show you that hard work pays off! |

Great casting! Sabine is already familiar to Top Gear viewers. Besides being an amazing driver, she is quite funny as well.
Hopefully, the new cast members can recreate the wonderful chemistry that the previous hosts had. |
