I think it's strange that people do see a wing flexing on the RB car but don't see a finn flexing on the MERC car. How can I be the only person who does see that?
I bet that's equally 'non rigid'.

It's all the same same. All teams try to stretch the rules to find the tiniest possible advantage.
Good catch, didn't notice the vertical fin flexing because I was concentrating on the the wing.

That's for sure with all the luck on his side !
Remember HAM at Imola in the gravel trap in reverse during the damn Red-Flag !
Mate , give me a f@cking break !
Theres a song called ''Some guys have all the luck'' (with the helpful hand of others who are in cahoots) I'm thinking of putting it on..

However, after watching the new video I think the FIA will change the test and RB won't be able to use it. The key part being marking wings and video observation not just load tests. IMHO
X2, Lance used a drug that was specifically banned, there was no grey area, then was successful getting by/or avoiding the tests.

RB has a spoiler that passed all tests and "rigid" isn't a binary, yes/no function. Take any of these cars over a curb, have gauges to measure deflection and you will find that virtually nothing is rigid. You want something that doesn't bend under a certain amount of load you need to put the numbers in the regulation and test for these numbers. Only thing I can see from the video is the RB wing is more flexible than the MB and the MB fin seams to be more flexible than the RB. I don't for a second think MB has this flexible fin because they don't realize it or can't fix it. Too simple to make it less flexible if it would help them.

The reason why the Red Bull wing is moving downwards is because the 16-B is running with the well known "higher rake"
In other words : By the Red Bull's higher rake , the rear wing is catching more wind .
That's why we can see that the whole wing is moving downwards by the higher downforce on the rear wing .

HAM and Toto are talking BS as usual...

The higher rake combined with more at an angle r/wing makes sense in it catching more wind.
It's why the W12 has been tail happy at first with their longer wheel base and higher rake thus using the McLaren diffuser to even it out and taking longer to warm their tyres whereas RB tyres up quicker.

Watch how much the Red Bull wing appears to rise at the end of the straight...RB are leaning back their whole wing assembly to cheat the static load tests.

It's there where the FIA should look at ....

Exactly my friend, it's what you ''can't'' see and only a fool thinks 44 car is all kosher with that (nasa) speed.

I'm assuming the static load test is done by pushing on an area of the wing and measuring deflection (correct me if I am wrong). You say RB are cheating the test, can you explain how? Only way I can see that you can say they are cheating the test is to understand how they did it or have some additional information besides just watching a wing go down more than another wing.

Neat! It looks like they(RBR) knew how the FIA tested this and figured out a way to pass the test and still gain an advantage. This is engineering. As a result the FIA will tighten the testing up to eliminate this grey area/loophole. I'm not mad about it. Nice work RBR

Wow.
So other teams who might have scored more constructors points (along with the $millions that brings) if Red Bull hadn't been cheating...you thing they are equally impressed by Red Bulls "engineering"?
And if Red Bull have the moral duplicity to cheat at one aspect of their cars design then why wouldn't they cheat at others?

^ You could say that about the Merc hidden warp speed to which other teams are losing out on points, well hidden under those engine covers if Merc are cheating at that hiding it well and being passed as 'legal' like the Das scam.

Great news about Grosjean . The Phoenix of the fire is back !

Most of his crashes were caused by his crappy HAAS car !

If their wing passed the FIA static load tests how is it cheating? This isn't Renault's mass damper, this is a rear wing that's in plain view. Kudos to RB for staying within the rules and finding an advantange. F1 101.

Love it, good for him!!!!!!!

Still hoping HAAS can pull off a miracle in 2022. My second favorite team since I live about 20 minutes from their US factory. MAYBE Ferrari can produce a great engine without cheating next year. But I doubt it

Same here . It's really nice for Grosjean to see him get the pole !
Also for his wife and kids , after such a hard time..

No wonder he crashed so much in the Haas car . The Haas car is very unpredictable !
On the other hand : I've watched the 30 episodes (3 seasons) of Drive To Survive ..
I mean the driver Kevin Magnussen did an oustanding job at Haas in that crappy car !

If Checo fails at Red Bull , Horner should make that call for Kevin Magnussen ASAP !
Kevin is such a nice guy and his driver performance is really underestimated ...
Hopefully we can see Kevin back in F1 ASAP !

EDIT : Ferrari ?
Well , Ferrari did a big step forwards !
Look where they came from...And look where they run today !
