I was walking my dog yesterday and some 16 y.o. had a new silver G37, cranking Justin Timberlake. I assume it was a factory stereo and it was pumping, and must have been feeling like the man. I couldn't help but wonder why his parents didn't love him as much as the parents of many members here, and get him a 335?

I don't think I could bring myself to buy a car when I can't even say its name without laughing.

i totally agree with the comments about the design of the G37. I've seen a few and there's something that's just off about that design.

The G35 coupe was a total head turner for me.

I was able to get my e92 for 41.5 w 1500 easy miles on it. Owner was waiting for his new 997S to be built and bought the 335 as a "stop gap car".....his words. He was very well off, retired before 45 yrs old. So I reaped the benefits. Had the exact color combo and features I wanted.......so I bought a plain ticket one way and didnt look back. Came back home the next evening w/ a huge smile on my face and 2200 miles on the odometer. I ordered my procede the next day and now the smile just won't go away.

The G37 did not even cross my mind, no competition in my eyes.

yes they should have stuck closer to the prototype- but apparently they were adjusting the car to pickup more females and older people.

dealers wont budge on the g37... too new. not worth it to spend msrp or close to it when you can get a 335i for a few grand more. gotta agree infiniti should know this and adress it. the G37 just isnt what the g35 was. g35 = an underdog who wins big time... g37 = an old timer who comes back and looses.

dont even get me started on the weight of the new g37. all they had to do was toss a single turbo on it. and alot of infiniti to bmw converts woulda stayed infiniti. but i guess nissan wanted to sell 300 or so skylines and selling 20,000 g37Turbo's wasnt in their best interest !!!

hell if you thought the old g35's back seat room was cramped the new is even more.

but anyways. yeah im pissed they messed it up , i woulda bought one.

+1 You said it potty.

I'm really disappointed with the G37. I took it for a test drive and was unimpressed. They lost the magic of the G35.

And there is no way I would ever feel proud driving that thing to a meet. Its body design is for stuffy old fogies.

When Infiniti designed the G35 they broke away from a failed marketing plan and hit a home run right out of the ball park.

The new G37 is a rehash of the failed, old and decrepid Q45.
Infiniti must want to go back to their "near bankrupcy" days.

I love the sound of G35's that are just strolling along or accelerating from a rest! I wish the 3 sounded like that...

Prices

I just got my 08 E92 335i w/ PREM, SPT, NAV and a couple of other small extras for 45.5K, just a tad over dealer invoice. Many other dealers in San Diego area were similar (between $500 and $1000 over invoice). BTW...an Infiniti never crossed my mind.

g37 is ugly. I would rather take the g35 over the 37 anyday. Does anyone else think this?

The drive was nice though i have to admit. Powerful enough. Exhaust sound awesome, but thats about it. Did i mention it was ugly. Maybe that was why they had so many left at the dealer. I really thought it would be flying off the lot until i actually saw it in person. Pricewise it wasn't that much cheaper than the 335i. g37s was about 43k+tax with nav, premium. They would not budge on the price. I bought the 335i (above) for 45.5k+tax. It just made it that much easier. For 2.5k more... i got a car the way i wanted. infinity doesn't offer red interior. Now i have to wait 6-8 week. Sales guy said it will go in production next week. How long after that do i get the car?? Boston, MA
So no one is going to call his bluff on this? You looked at a fully loaded G37 for 43K + tax. A fully loaded 335 is NOT or anywhere close to the price of G37. Your looking at atleast a 5K difference. Never mind the lease prices which are atleast $50 more a month. 335i wins in almost every category BUT value. No one can argue that, lets be real. 335 is a great car but the value (as usual) goes to Infiniti.

+1...I would agree with this; however, with that said, I think the BMW 335i is absolutely worth the extra $$, whether buying or leasing.

I came from an '04 Infiniti G35 (loaded and modded) and an '03 FX35 (loaded); as I test drove both new cars ('07 G35 Sedan and the '07 BMW 335i), the differences in performance (and modding possibilities) were very definite...335i FTW!
