the trailer seems to be filled with one liners and catch phrases. i'm hoping the movie isn't littered with them for an attempt at humor.

It's made for the general public, not the hardcore enthusiast. Gird your loins. There will be catch phrases, one liners AND inane explanations along with OTT crashes and journalistic license. You're welcome!!

yea but american try to make it like david vs goliath except in this case the ferrari is the minimal and ford (the suppose underdog) is the giant corp with loads more R&D cash than ferrari can ever think of

plus wasn't the earlier ones engineered and built in england, though the later one is built and designed in america

I thought Carroll Shelby took a small british roadster and put a big American V8 in it and that was the Shelby Cobra. The Ford GT was built in house. But yeah it is true that Ford is a big mainstream car company that invented mass production vs the specialty low volume production of Ferrari. There was lots of trash talking on both sides. And also beating Ferrari on their own turf. Maybe Ferrari should race in NASCAR like Toyota with the Camry and also the Tundra in the truck series. Or Indy 500 I think those are more similar to cars Ferrari actually makes. (I think they already do actually not sure how many times they won)

The interviews I've seen indicate that they didn't use CGI, but rather real cars (presumably repro's).

CBS Sunday Morning did a good segment on it this morning. We’ll be seeing it opening weekend.

I'm sure it will have great racing scenes and good acting from Bourne and Batman but it seems like a predictable typical american flag worshiping film against the smug evil italians. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Just saw it. You are, indeed, wrong. The film managed to stay very much about PEOPLE despite the corporate and national aspects of the thing. Great film, worth folks' time.

I saw this last night, and IMO it was fantastic, a must see. I've come to hate how trailers are made nowdays, they give away the best parts of the movie all too often, and the same is true here, but there were a few parts that were really cool that they kept out of the trailer.

Overall it's like a RUSH type of movie, which I loved as well, and I think I'll be able to watch this one over and over again because it's so character-driven. Watching the movie is really getting to know Carroll and Ken, which is really great.

But since it's based on a "true story", wouldn't it be not a surprise and don't we already know the ending?

Haven't seen the movie yet but it will be interesting how it will be compared to Ron Howard Rush which I really like. I like a movie with a subtext. Something real to think about at night on a trip to the refrigerator.

Ford vs Ferrari, rocks!
So well done, it made a car person like me tear up with the emotion of the connection with the machine!

Also I MUST GET A MANUAL BACK after seeing this film!

They could give this whole movie away and you'd still like it because it's so character-driven. It's the exact same with RUSH. 5 stars from me, both films.
