jesus that looks like a tilt-shift or a prime. My 16-35 never looks like that at 2.8

wide-angles have more depth of field at f/2.8 than telephoto. 70mm and f/2.8 (and looking even more zoomed in on a crop-sensor) will give you some pretty good bokeh (god, i hate that word) on something really close up.

I'm not sure how cropping would apply in this contest since the rules seem more strictly adhered to. I know cropping was allowed in the past so I wanna ask: is it allowed? For example: you take a picture with the purpose of only using parts of the picture. Does that count as "removing part of the picture" ?
