My favorite dessert of all time was Deep fried ice cream, which involves rolling some ice cream scoops in batter, tossing it in the deep fryer for a few seconds to make crispy on the outside, and topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
Sofaking good!! I had it twice in my life because it seemed to be so hard to come by up here, and it turn out right at home / I did not like working with a deep fryer lol. And now it's just a spoon of honey. lol Last edited by Bunnny; 11-08-2021 at 12:49 PM.. |

Almond paste (marzipan)
Recipe from Bruno Albouze on yt For the Stollen. Almond flour Honey Corn syrup Sugar Water Almond extract Cook sugar and water to 244F, then pour in a thin stream into almond flour on stand mixer using paddle attachment. Add a few drops of almond extract then mix for 5 minutes. Form into a log and wrap tightly with plastic. Can be used for anything that calls for almond paste. This is not, however, decorating marzipan and can not be formed into flowers or decorations. Decorating marzipan has a higher sugar content and lower almond content. Made some spoon method Black & Tan and even a Half & Half with Kilkenny. I haven't lost my barmaid touch. Although it's easier and tastier from the tap.

Yes the crust looks good too. I never shopped at Wegmans. Seems like their bakery is pretty good. I did shop at Stew Leonard's a few times and bakery was very good I thought. It's been a while since I lived on the East Coast.

Avid baker here! This is a Swedish strawberries & cream cake which I made. I have a particular interest in traditional Nordic baking because I visit that part of the world regularly.
