I do track mine, but I also think of a speed limit more like a suggestion. I try to see if I can get into triple digits on exit ramps on regular basis. I also have a redline-a-day rule I follow religiously.

LOL Yeah i sorta know where to get away with it, not many cameras here, certainly compared to back home in OZ where they are EVERYWHERE.
With the stang, I was in 3rd exiting a corner, so doing about 50kmh, stepped on it and before I changed gear I was at 140... like man, wonderful mill but how the heck do i enjoy that i guess. |

Secondly, I think turbo cars (combined with MT for me) can be a blast. I can honestly say i love my M2C as much as my E92 M3 for very different reasons. While the M3 thrills more and more as you Rev to its 8400 rpm redline, the M2C is fun because you can explore the chassis a bit more at low speed because the torque combined with a fun chassis. The M2C in MDM mode in the wet can be a lot of fun. Now keep in mind, I'm not in the camp that believes power is everything. I think 400 hp is far more than enough, it's all about the car's character. Also, I think these turbo engines have gotten so good. While the S55 will never sound as good and react as quick as an NA engine, you get the power of a V8 but can still get 27 mpg on the hwy. Even more impressive to me is the B58, potentially one of the best engines BMW has ever made. I was seeing dang close to 30 MPG on an X3 M40i in the hwy. I'd pick this engine over any non S engine BMW has ever made (although we'll see how they are to maintain at 10 year mark) |

ice isnt going to go away anytime soon.
what will be going away soon are the v8s in favor of turbo 6s. But Trucks/SUVs will still be gas/diesel, cars like the mustang will still have gas options. The ice cars that are going to go away are the commuter cars like a camry, where people arent buying them for fun, they are buying them to get from point a to point b. im one of those that prefers a turbo'd 6 over a NA v8 so its perfect for me. Ive got a 2022 F150 w/ the 3.5TT on order, and in 5 years or so, ill order another turbo'd 6 truck. On the flip side though, i kind of hope ice vehicles go away so i can sell my old v8 car for a premium. As for if all of a sudden ice cars are announced to be ending, id like to snag a c8 vette

There's an 86 down the street, i always kind of admired it but wondered who drove it. I figured some 20 year old. I walk past their house on my daily wander and FMD the driver is a 50+ year old woman. Got a chuckle from that, she buzzes around with it everywhere.

I don't think I fit the typical demographic of an 86/BRZ owner given that this was my 60th birthday present to myself

I thought the C8 Z51 was my final special ICE car... but now I'm waiting for a C8 Z06! On multiple Z06 MSRP waitlists, first deposit placed in March 2021. There will be a 2nd year car in my future, maybe 3rd year if totally unlucky.
@OP, if you are seriously looking for a 911 in NY metro area, pm me. I can point you to a few area dealers that are MSRP or only $5k over. I recently helped a family member purchase a custom order C2 Cabriolet with no mark-up. You will have to wait on a list for a bit (6-12 months), but it is possible to pay MSRP.

my end game cars are in my list
<------- Still waiting on C8Z06 (#4 on the list), a 2023 M5 order later, and I am the M4CSL buyer at one dealership so really hoping that happens... :-) A GT3 or Turbo S Lightweight would be cool but I don't want to get rid of any of these cars and I am out of space. |

I wouldn't consider it my "final special ICE car," but I just picked up an NB Miata as a weekend car for the wife and I. I've been needing a manual drop top back in the garage and this was perfect. Its really nice to experience "features" like Hydraulic Steering, Cable Throttle, and a great Manual Gearbox again. Add on top of that the low ~2,200lb curb weight, and the fact that I can have fun in it without going excessively over the speed limit.

C8 z06. That’s all I’ll need as my forever car.
I should get mine in fall barring no more holdups or shortages. |
