I'm pretty sure I would hate anyone who drove one of these!

No. I don't think xDrive can take on the likes of the 4Matic system that is on the tanks they make. The GLS and the G wagon are beasts.

However, I would absolutely buy a mini-ute, that's freaking adorable.

If it could tow 10klbs I'd buy one. There is really no premium heavy duty truck on the market. You can get a $70k GM Denali and the interior is shit still.
Would love a luxury truck I could daily that could tow 8-10k and use to haul a race car around. Nothing like that exists. |

These nutjobs in Munich will drive the BMW brand into the ground. They should work on making sure the next 3 series is not a total letdown like the F30 was instead of worrying about trucks nobody will buy.

I'd buy one if it had serious off-road performance like a Raptor and can tow a BMW weekend track car.
If the concept is essentially a Honda Ridgeline with BMW street performance then I'm out. |

German pick-up trucks? I reckon that ze Germans are better off retaining at the field they do the best: smooth & luxury ride with a tad sportiness.
These kinda heavy duty task best leave it to Murica and Aussie mate

The Mercedes X Class Pickup Trucks look sick!
If a BMW version will look as cool as the Mercedes X Class concepts they will sell like hot-cakes here in the U.S. and in New York! But they have to be super Sleek and super Bad-Ass!!! If not it won't sell, make a more Off-Road xDrive version and a Sport xDrive M version and it will! I say bring it! In Long Island's wine country everyone out here has a pickup truck. And in the Hamptons a lot of people get trucks or Jeeps just to go 4-wheeling on the beaches and have sunset family beach gatherings. Their is defiantly a market here in the States for the luxury Mercedes X Class Pickup Trucks, everyone loves their SUVs here. And not everyone needs a full-on work truck but they like the concept of a pickup. I'm awaiting the X4M and finally a xDrive M4! Last edited by DCG; 02-21-2017 at 04:24 AM.. |

TAKE NOTE! BMW only do a ute (pickup, el camino, truck) as a joke. Think about that. NO commercial vehicles, unlike the other chermans. They do nice bikes though

I would honestly. If it was a midsize pickup from BMW for sure. We just bought an x1 because my wife wanted some luxury and the Tacoma didn't offer it. Being overseas for the military, the only option for a pickup is a full size f150 or a Tacoma from MAS. Since neither was luxury or in a size my wife was comfortable driving, we got the X1.
It'd be a good move imo for a BMW X1 size pickup. Smaller than a full size pickup, but still useable for light hauling and pulling. It's the one market I feel BMW is missing a good amount on. We would have bought a pickup no question about it if BMW had offered the pickup. |

I like the first two pics, the others no. Couple that with a 3.5 diesel and they may have something... still no HD truck though.
Edit: Hmm maybe smoke stacks would make it look better |
