While the PlayStation 3 launch went smoothly across the vast majority of the U.S., the Associated Press reported that one person waiting for a console was shot and hospitalized.
In the early morning hours in Putnam, Connecticut, two individuals believed to be teens demanded money from 15 to 20 people waiting outside a Wal-Mart for the short-in-supply console. When one of the customers resisted the assailants' demands, the person was shot.

The victim was hospitalized and the AP had received no word on the condition of the person. Witnesses said that one of the attackers wore a ski mask and had a handgun, while the other sported a shotgun. The suspects are currently at large.

Other pockets of PS3 launch-related violence and mishaps include the mugging of three line-waiters outside a Target store in Oregon, an armed robbery of PS3s at a California GameStop, a BB gun drive-by shooting outside a Kentucky Best Buy and a 19-year-old male that ran into a pole while running at full steam to grab a place in line at a Wisconson Wal-Mart.

So what's the verdict on the system right now. Anyone here get one and want to tell us how it is?

All the games right now suck and have been rated lower than the 360 equivalent.

I got a Ps3. Im very tempted to crack it open and test it out right now. Im just not sure if it's worth the goddamn $1200 they made me spend on the bundle.

Hahahaha, that video is great. I personally was never a PS fan. But I decided I'll give the PS3 a chance once some better games come out since I do not have a brand loyalty. I like FPS games and Racing. XBOX suits me perfectly, since most shooters are on there. But we will see how PS3 fairs.

And getting a bundle for $1200 is a very good deal since people are selling just the unit for more than 3x that. I haven't bought a bundle before, but if everything comes individually packaged, I would part it all out on ebay.

They did the same thing for Xbox 360 too, they're both pretty amusing, just shows you that the internet is really good at bring stupid people with stupid ideas together

My hubby surprised me with a PS3 yesterday, to be honest, I'm still more impressed with Xbox 360, especially when it comes to the User interface, it's essentially identical to my PSP, which IMO is kind of cheap of Sony. Gears of War on 360 so far wins for Graphical prowess over Resistance fall of man, so far I haven't found a justification for the 6 or 7 hundred dollars this thing cost.

Great thing is, you can play it for a month, and sell it as a used model in time for christmas and still make money...
