i wouldn't assume so. Given this guy is likely here on a work or visit visa, govt likely will just deport him and blacklist him He likely will not face any charges in China.

Even if he serves jail time, he likely will get minimum security prison. It's in this country's interest to just deport him and blacklist him from coming back, saves us money.

That goes to show you that in China they can replicate anything. But to duplicate is another challenge. Quality, safety, and reliability is not there

I just think we need to make more stuff here in the USA, never said we should not ever buy from other countries. We just need the jobs and money to be more over here the giving it to other countries.

Not sure how making more stuff and creating more jobs here in the US is a bad thing and if someone want to buy from some other country then they can.

Counterfeit parts has always been and will likely always be an issue within the automotive industry. Most of the counterfeit airbags were made in China. They all had one thing in common, namely that they are very cheap, which a repair shop would have an interest in procuring. Not only that, but even a mechanic might not be able to tell the difference. Many of the counterfeit bags have all the same logos and markings of OEM airbags, according to AutoGuide, making it nearly impossible to discern.
