I tend to wake up earlier on the weekends & ready to roll unless I'm just cozy. Week days are hell to wake up. I don't think I sleep very good either so that is part of the problem, I think.

Are those loud song birds still a problem on the palm tree you were talking about.

Friday and Saturday I don't set alarms. I'll usually sleep an hour or two later if no one wakes me up. I'm an early riser, so 8:30 is "sleeping in" for me.

Haha, that's so funny you remembered! No, not as bad. I hope the hurricane killed them all. It's been more peaceful the past few months. I did buy a mini air horn pre storm and would blast it if beating the tree didn't work. Crazy, I know but they were incessant.

Don't know why I remembered but it's the right thread for it and it just clicked, yeah it is a bit funny but for sure sleep depravation is serious.

I wonder if that will work with my idiot neighbor's dog. Every morning at 4AM..yap, yap, yap, yap...ad nauseam.

Give it a try. It will scare the shit out of the dog and hopefully the neighbors. I don't know why someone would allow their dog to torture others so early in the am.

You can also complain to the city (at least where I live) about a noisy dog. Don't know how effective it is.

It's irresponsible and rude to let a dog bark and disturb the neighbors, especially when they are sleeping.

Agreed. Hopefully, there's a special place in hell for people who let their dogs bark for hours on end.

Don't waste the money. As a resident of a house with a little yappy dog who barks every morning at 4:00 AM, I can say with authority that a blast of the "bear" air horn straight to the face will only make him bark louder thinking that it is a decibel competition.....

In my area, it requires FIVE people to complain about the same dog before authorities will take any action.

I don't even know five people on my street.

I get out (of my neighborHOOD) every chance I get

There are only 2 Caucasians in my hood, and I'm the second one. Dave has been here a lot longer.

I'm from L.A. and I knew Spanish when I was a kid, learned it in school. If you don't practice it, you forget, which is my case. My Spanish now is probably similar to yours.

For me the key word to know when they're talking shit is Wedito.

Huero? Yeah, people call me that all the time.

My Spanish is that I can't conjugate verbs to save my life.

I've been to Oxnard and stopped to eat a few times... years ago. Mostly Spanish/English speakers, right?

Certainly depends on what type of food you ate

My Spanish is strong enough to get really good Mexican food. But I also have my wife who is fluent in Spanglish.

Hopefully it was just regular Mexican food. That's what I thought I was getting. I heard no meowing, barking, or screaming beforehand.
