It wouldn't be a bad idea to properly clean the contacts as well.

UPDATE: Okay.. so I opened up my computer reseated my RAM chips, my video card, and I restarted my computer and all of a sudden, this happens:

So I went back to the Nvidia site (my video card is a EVGA e-Geforce 8800 GTS btw) and what do you know, they post up this on their website:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us
"196.75 Alert!
We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers do not download this driver. Instead, please stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our website and we also are asking our partners and others to remove temporarily this 196.75 WHQL driver as well."

So I rolled back to my old driver version, but too late.. now the damn thing wouldn't even go to the main windows screen after restarting every time and all the screen shows is glitch and then another F'in BLUE SCREEN saying my video display card is not responding and is shutting down.

Sigh...... so now I uninstalled my gaming card and installed my "default" video card I got when I purchased the whole computer package and voila! No problems whatsoever. Again, I'll update if there's a blue screen welcoming me tomorrow morning when I turn it on.. if not, must be the video card's fault. I'm going to pulverize it if it did cause the problem.

This was the noise that started a while back.. and as soon as the noise stops, BAM! Blue screen.

did you just feel the need to spew out words just to add 1 to your post count? The OP isnt as computer savvy as others and you throw this BS out there just to confuse him more.

Use your default video card, download/install the .21 drivers, then shut down and put the NVIDIA back in IF you don't get BSO for a few days.

UPDATE: Yupp I took out my geforce video card, put my default video card in, went to Fry's yesterday and got myself a new one. This morning, I turn on my computer this morning, and what do u know.. the damned thing finally DID NOT blue screen on me at all! Three months of blue screen every single f'in day.. and the reason was a broken video card...... like I said, I am going to pulverize my old one soon. Thank you so much for everyone's help! Couldn't have fixed this problem if it wasn't for u guys.

Lol who would have thought it was the video card. I mean that's completely unrelated when you think about it. When you think blue screen the last thing you think of is the video card.

I dunno man.... It's definitely not the first thing I'd think of, but I've seen it happen enough times for sure.... IIRC, back when I had my 8800 GTX and before, I was glad I went nvidia because a lot of the ATI guys were getting severe issues with the crappy drivers back then. However, they are a lot better now, and I haven't had any issues with my 4870.

While my first thought was "RAM", video card was definitely still an option.
