He's not 'ripping him off', or any shit like that, it was plainly put in the auction.

Yes he's charging a lot, but he's not pulling a bait and switch, or anything like that, he's doing EXACTLY what was in the auction. He's charging higher shipping fees because ebay doesn't take their 5-9% cut on it.
Exactly.

You're the only person who can determine what the monitor is worth to you.

Buying an item for $2.00 with $10.00 for shipping or an item for $10.00 with $2.00 for shipping still costs you $12.00 total for each transaction.

Good Luck.

I don't understand how people can complain about eBay and Paypal fee's.

eBay is easily the #1 online sales venue, 5-9% for using that and having credit card processing included is pretty damn cheap. Try selling online without eBay and Paypal and see what your costs are.

I have a pretty successful eBay business selling mostly computer & networking parts and I charge actual shipping costs. I usually get a good price for my items and the charges I happily pay are all a cost of doing business.

who said anything about running a business? You're right, if you're running a *business* ebay is tolerable/good. However ebay has always promoted itself as being essentially a flea market of sorts. It's a necessary evil that people don't realize the alternatives that can be done... if you do a million dollars in sales on ebay in a year.... the extra 3-4% you can make through alternative methods is quite a chunk of money to your bottom line.

As a small seller, you'll take a bath on the used item, then the 10% fees on top of it (at least)

And again, as a seller, you have no way of making someone purchase an item.
