Yeah, I picked up Cpl a month before my 2 year mark and I know guys who picked up Cpl a little after their year mark.

I know what you mean. There is always some bs uniform inspection, gear inventory, or annual training shit to do...

I was in 4 years and stayed Lance just like every other grunt.

I had 290-300 PFTs, near perfect rifle quals, perfect CFTs, awesome pro cons, and did my job very well.

How many MCIs did you do? I only did 2, because higher made us, but it's nearly impossible to do MCIs because of the stupid supervisor, mail in fuck ups, etc.

That really sucks bro. As a Lance I had done 7 MCI's and as a Cpl I've done 4out of the 8010 series and I have 1 college course that counts for points.

25 years old. Director of Operations for a medium sized garbage/recycling company.. It's been in my family for generations. Worked as a helper on the back of the truck from 9 pm-10 am every summer from age 14-18 along with some sales when I wasn't on the truck. My summer before college got my class B CDL at age 18. Went to college, graduated with a degree in psychology. Worked for the company any time I wasn't in school. Just happy to be weathering this economy, and staying alive while 25% of my competitors go bankrupt.

What you should see from the majority of the young posters is that they had a goal set and they worked hard to accomplish it. Nothing in this world comes easy, and if it does than it probably wasn't worth it/ you weren't deserving of it. I hope to enjoy life 5 years from now, because right now I am focused on work and the only enjoyment I get is my brief drive home from work in my car. Otherwise, money is being saved for an overpriced apt/home in the greater metropolitan area.

22 yrs old, just graduated undergrad and am and assistant manager of executive operations/accounting at my dad's HVAC company. Hopefully going back to school for my MBA next spring, would like to get into financial services.

Same here except Economics. Spring breaks, summers, winter break, everything spent working...including 12-14 hr days every Christmas and Fourth of July holiday weekends/weeks. Probably taken 5 non-holidays off ever. Very fortunate to have a full time job right now, many people I know that just graduated are not so fortunate.

Hm... 20 and going for my B.S. in Chemistry. Unemployed as of 1 week ago. Waiting for my interview at a nearby laboratory to hopefully land a job as a lab technician there. My friend's father is a senior chemist there and is helping me get the job. He's told me he can pull a lot of strings to get me in there, but we shal see. Even if I don't get the lab tech job, there are other jobs they are hiring for there so I'm guaranteed to at least get one of them.
