Haven’t quite decided on the exact length yet as I was originally thinking 3 weeks, but let’s say 17-20 days. I plan on spending 7 days or so in Turkey for the latter half. The rest of the time is in Croatia. Most flights are going into Zagreb right now so that is where I will land and fly to Turkey out of.

Split and Dub look cool but takes time to drive. I am thinking of renting a car for the duration while there. It is so cheap! For 10 days it’s about $90 for a small car. Spend the first night in Zagreb, drive to Istria and base out of Rovinja for 4-5 days, do day trips to the various towns, then head back to Zagreb for 2 nights where I’ll go to Plitvice for a day.

Currently planning on going solo but might have a buddy tag along. Not really into the whole party scene, mainly nature, culture, food, history, etc.

Ideally, i'd do this .....

- Zagreb 2 nights, it's not a brilliant city TBH.

- Drive to Plitvice via a town called Turanj and stop there to see the war memorial, not big but you literally drive right past it and stop at the pub for a feed. Spend a night locally near Plitvice or near the ferry ports around Jablanac.

- Grab a ferry to Island Rab, spend a few days exploring, it's a slower paced island but still great outdoor bars etc. 3 nights

- Drive to Split - 2 nights

- Drive to Makarska, great mix of beach and mountains, 2 nights, maybe 3 if warm enough.

- Drive down to to Dubronik, 2 nights.

Fly back from Dubrovnik to zagreb and look to take day trips from Zagreb to surrounding cities as the weather cools to fill out your itinerary.

If you see a sign that says Odojac, stop in, it's roasted pig on a spit. Just stop in, down question how shitty the place looks on the outside.

Wow some amazing pictures!! Thanks for sharing.

So basically don’t bother with Zagreb and Istria? The itinerary above would work if I do the 3-week plan, otherwise it’s a lot of moving around and perhaps not accounting for days where I fly from one place to the other? Let’s say if we keep it to 3 cities/places only, where would you recommend?

Never been to Istria so cannot comment. Plitvice is great, just use Zagreb as a hub. Problem is the nature of the country means Dubrovnik is right at the bottom so you cannot cherry pick places so to speak, you need to stick to a region if worried about travel. Keep in mind it's not that far, it's still a small country.

We took weeks to do that itinerary from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. If the weather is not really warm, maybe skip the island but i don't see the pointing going to croatia if it is not warm enough to swim. Suha Punta on Rab is amazing, well worth a visit.

Alrighty a buddy and I are going to Cabo to celebrate our 35th. Any recommendations on places to eat, check out or activities to do? We planning on renting a car to go go Todos Santos and La Paz (2 separate day trips).

Had a last minute opportunity to go to Turkey few weeks ago but it didn’t pan out. Keeping it on the radar for next few months and see.

Can’t quite understand whether they’re playing everyday or only certain days in October. Flyer doesn’t say much other than 9 AM - 6 PM.

"a bit" has been going on for 6+ months already, and with never-ending goalposts moving, 2022 is now considered optimistic.

It has more of an authentic feel to it. For example, downtown is great! The jungle aspect of PV is more my liking vs dessert. It’s not as humid or hot as Cabo. The vibe here is really nice. At first I was worried about spending more time in Mexico but after the first day or two I wished I had booked more time. Cabo San Lucas was too Americanized for me- still had a good time but not enough charm vs PV.

I can see where you would feel Cabo was more Amercanized. I do like a more authentic feel and have never been to PV before. We were thinking about a last minute trip to Cabo since we haven't been in about 10 years but will look into PV. Thanks!
