And my ridiculously horrible PSN name is "atomicjellyfish", so if anyone on here wants to add me feel free. Just add a little message saying you're from E90post so I'll be more likely to not blow it off

Ya I am working my way up and I am at lv13 but to be honest this game is already getting old. Also as a problem or issue I notiiced that you cant upgrade the brakes. Whats up with that? Also the level of customization is lackin in comparison to Forza 3 i think. 6 years of developement and this is the best they could come up with?
The game seems a little underwhelming to me right now. Maybe I am just too biased towards FPS's. I am not sure that it delivers after the huge hype and wait time. PSN name is racefan_N54 Quote:

Im trying to not let it get boring. I blitzed thru A-Spec pretty quick before even attempting B-Spec, so I had an arsenal of cars at my useless driver's disposal. Still he somehow manages to lose.
I mix it up though, I play some Black Ops and BC2, while Im also trying to enjoy the frustrating gameplay of NFS Hot Pursuit. Mixing it up keeps things fresh. I also have a lot of friends playing it online and we've started up a racing league of sorts to have some fun with from time to time. I just wish there were more of the special kind of racing, like Karting and Rally. It would make the game more fun I think. |

Just noticed that there are no endurance races for level 29 (which I'm currently at). I guess PD is making the jump to level 30 a bit difficult because isn't that the level that unlocks the Sebastian Vettel challenge and the Red Bull X1 car?

Agreed. there should be more karting, and rally. That is why I think TDU2 will be a game that delivers more fun than GT5 does. It will have off road nad then it is a total open world which is fun. I spent a lot of hours online in TDU with friends just driving around and doing different races. Plus TDU2 will have the online casino where you can intereact with others. I may go give GT5 as trade in credit at gamestop for TDY2 which comes out in Feb.
The only thing that can save GT5 for me is if they plan on doing more updates and adding races and cars. Quote:

Here's a tip. If you are dreading doing the endurance races...do what I did.
Focus on seasonal events, licenses, etc etc getting gold in all the special stuff. And at night/at work have your b spec running. When your b spec gets to level 35 you get a free X2010. When you get that, (at any point afterwards), start doing the endurance races, with the X2010 you can be HOURS ahead of the competition allowing you to step away from an a spec race for hours and come back later. You can apply the same thing with the FGT, but the x2010 speeds things up even more considerably. It's what I did at least |

09 Spec V is the way to go with a couple of light mods to get 394 hp (I think I did cats and headers, but I can't remember) and stripped as light as you can go. I tried using a tuned R34 before and could only get 5th. With a built up Spec V I finished gold with a 5 second lead. Felt soooo good. Just gotta dial in the transmission to max out top gear before you brake on the straight, and remember not to take the turns too hot. I don't think I used any suspension adjustments.

an issue that i just realized is that the so called fully adjustable transmission is no where near fully adjustable. In the old GT games you could adjust each gear ratio independantly which really helped dial in the low end accel to jump out in the lead at first againts evenly matched HP cars.
To be really honest this game can be fun and it has been a little more fun since I got th DFGT wheel but the wheel is not great and the feel is very weird at times, and lacks any finesse to be precise even in straight lines. It kicks and bucks around in my hand far too much and then sometimes it has firm pressure in a turn then just releases. I am going to invest in Fanatec GT2 CLubsport so I can use it with Forza and TDU2, as well as NFS HP on xbox.

LOL, something you would not do in real life going over 100mph. I am a little more used to the wheel after a few days but it still is not giving the great feel I wanted. The Fanatec wheels are pricey but have the best feel and response from what I read. The only thing is they are in Germany, and if something goes wrong I am not confident they will deal with it in a fast manner. I asked them in 2 different emails, along with other questions, and they dont answer all of the questions. they just say the wheel will ship this month, that they are sure of. So either they dont understand much english or their translation software they use is making a mess of it so they cant understand what I am asking.
The new Thrustmaster wheel is coming soon, but it is just as expensive and no clue if it will be any better than the Logitech. Plus i am not sure how I feel about owning something called a "Thrustmaster". I hope PD updates the game soon so that you can have more adjustability with the transmission like the old games, and also make s the freaken Veyron a premium car for shit sake. I mean a 350z is premium and is worth less than the tires on a veyron in real life. Kind of funny. 6 years to make this game and in all that time they could get their hands on one to scan the entrior? I would think the head of PD would own a Veyron by now with all the coin he has.

i get the feeling that PD worked more closely with certain auto manufacturers than others. If a company couldn't be bothered spending some time with PD to develop a very realistic representation of their car, PD probably just said screw em, let's make it standard.
Does anyone know why porsche continues to be left out of GT's lineup? What the hell? I'd love to be driving the wheels off of a new GT3RS. I've got my fingers crossed that they release an update that converts some of the more desirable standard cars into premium cars very soon. Knowing PD, this isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Oh well (shrugs).

Before you pull the trigger:
Dirt/Tarmac: Traction Control: Off Skid Recovery: On Active Steering: Mild or Off ASM: Off ABS: 1 Snow Traction Control: 1 or 2 Skid Recovery: On Active Steering: Mild or Off ASM: Off ABS: 1 Very light use of brakes. If you have the driving line on, tap a few times in the red zones instead of slamming them.

It was a licensing issue. I think they wanted far too much money so they stick with RUF versions.
They said they would update some cars to premium, but I have not seen a list of which ones. Quote:

I've heard Yamauchi wants to do plenty of updates for this game, so hopefully we'll get some fixes for everything wrong with it.
I feel that if Yamauchi had his way the game would be another 1 and a half years away. It almost feels like an unfinished GT6 in a way.

Are you using a controller or wheel? I've been hearing a lot of people having trouble with controllers in the FGT races. Using a wheel is still tough, but a lot easier. Still gotta be lightning quick. I thought I was going to burn out my wheel motor going against it like I was. |
