I saw Farmtruck from Street Outlaws post a tweet about the Demon having over 800HP - he said "cute."

TBH: The vast majority of us will never even see a Demon on the street. Hell, I've only ever seen five Hellcats that I can recall. This thing is going to be really rare.

Thumbs up to Dodge for pulling this off. Now, if they can just put this engine is something that weighs 1,000lbs. less and actually turns left and right...

You do realize that this demon is also "just" a challenger and not some bespoke 6 figure exotic, right? Great performance nevertheless - hellcat values are going to take a nosedive once this thing is out.

Ever heard of 918? just for starters. Many other brands and models can run 9s stock and IMHO 918 is on another level in terms of appeal, character and actual driving performance, not just straight line lol

A million dollar hyper car has more appeal and handles better than a muscle car that will actually be attainable? Wow, now there's the real headline, eh?

I would urge you to ask yourself this question:

"Is there a significant number of people reading this thread who will actually believe I am trying to be objective about this car rather than going out of my way to disparage it?"

I think that's a handy reality check people can do greatly reduce their troll-factor and to just generally maintain a more genuine presence online.

You sir are all over the place. The Demon is at the top of the list of five cars that run the quarter mile faster than 10 seconds and it will most likely be at a small fraction of the cost of the other cars. The other cars are hypercars. The 918 runs "only" 9.8s and cost at least $847,000 USD. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport runs 9.7s and cost $1,700,000 USD.

You should watch the video previously posted by Snappy Phoenix. Dodge didn't build the Demon to complete with other types of cars. They built it as a max-effort street / strip quarter mile car with a warranty.

I think a more valid comparison would be to the track only Ford Cobra Jet. Both are supercharged domestic V8 cars with factory engineered 1/4 optimized suspensions. Of course, the Demon is street legal, has a warranty, and AC.

How much is the demon gonna be worth in 30 years? Seems like it would be worth it to buy, take it out for a spin a couple times and then bubble wrap it and store it, that is if you have the willpower to do so. I googled most expensive muscle cars sold at auction and saw that 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sold for $3.5 million at auction in 2014.

That guy has been a BMW hater since joining the forum. His credibility is zilch.

Maybe they dont have room anymore under the hood to fit a stock filter of decent size (that can feed so much air)

....this is one crazy car....very collectable.

Who realistically has 30 years to wait to see a return? Lol
