Opposite experience for me, although i went with swisstrax over racedeck (had samples of both). Going 2 years now and no regrets. Color matters - lighter colors will stain regardless of bran. No issues with constant wrenching either, those tiles can take a beating.
agree! i used my jack and stands on top of it with no issues. they can take a beating. my neighbor has the Swisstrax and they both look the same to me other than the Swisstrax was larger

Great bones, for sure. If I were you, I'd create a journal to document your progress on garagejournal.com, as well.

Like some others who have chimed in here, I went with plastic tiles (Swisstrax) for my setup:

They can certainly take a beating and they hide all the dirt that falls to the ground and would normally be seen, so the flooring always appears clean. I will say you have to be careful with the type of jack and jackstands you use. Jacks with wider wheels (for better weight dispersion) and jack stands with flat bottoms (as opposed to angled, sharp edges) work better with this type of flooring.

That said, I have a bunch of extra tiles so if and when tiles get damaged, I can easily swap them out!

Did you have any problems w/the Swisstrax lip even w/the concrete lip? They suggested that I move the tiles back ~ 2" from the concrete lip.

Are you referring to the footing around the perimeter of the garage? Or the lip of the entrance of the garage where it meets the asphalt driveway?

Either way, I should have left more room (1/2" or so would have been enough) between the tiles and the back wall of the garage. Instead, I went right up against the footing. With the heat from the unusually warm summer we've had, some of the rubber tiles (I went with rubber in front of my workbench for comfort reasons) are bunching up because of expansion.

I'm going to trim back some of the tiles in the fall to allow that 1/2" or so of room that Swisstrax recommended (and I ignored) for expansion/contraction.

Ah, nope, I have the Swisstrax edge pieces right up against the lip. You can see it in these photos.

Thanks! That is EXACTLY what I was planing to do. That was until I read this post and talked to Swisstrax about it. They suggested to move the tiles back 2" so that the tires did not push the tiles back and snap them.

But seeing how it worked out for you, I'm going back to my original plan.

Ah, ok, interesting. Yeah, no problems here. Not sure if he's using the same edge pieces that I went with, but I haven't had any issues with pulling vehicles into/out of the garage:

Another option for those who need to account for a more robust transition would be something like this:

Oh and should anyone ever decide they want to purchase Swisstrax flooring (or anything that Obsessed Garage offers), Obsessed Garage offers very competitive pricing. And not for nothing, I get 5% commission if someone orders anything using the affiliate link in my sig.

Just throwing that out there.

FYI. Obsessed Garage pricing is good pricing and equivalent to Swisstrax 20% + Free Shipping.

Exactly! I'm not just trying to push my agenda....I wouldn't vouch for them if I didn't believe in them!
