I've had mine set to delete from server, but it never has, but it doesn't continually redownload them, either. One time deal, once they've been downloaded to the iPhone, they don't show up again on the iPhone (they obviously still will be downloaded on my mail client, though, at which point, then they're pulled off the server).

I just ran through the update process through iTunes, so I guess it restored the data after the OS install?
So I went from 3GS OS 3.1.2 --> 3GS OS 4.0 (8A293)

I take back what I said previously about using the restore feature helping with the lag. Less than a day later it was slow again.
I used the steps in the link below to revert back to OS 3.1.3 and it works great again. It is simple but just as time consuming as other OS updates. Just watch the two videos in the post and it's easy. Unless you have a pre-4.0 backup you will have to reload everything on the phone like it was new so copy anything not specifically stored in iTunes. http://lifehacker.com/5572003/how-to...s-4-to-ios-313

http://www.sinfuliphone.com/showthread.php?t=27464 http://www.sinfuliphone.com/showthread.php?t=25052 TBH... since you went to an OEM iOS4 I would say you shouldn't try to jailbreak tethered JB sucks To get your phone working: if u want to attempt a JB again.. Enter DFU mode (you seem to be in it already) Download the Sinful Custom ipsw do an option restore using that ipsw now, if that stillll fails then it seems your only bet is to get back on OEM OS4 DFU mode->Restore normally using apple's ipsw if you had a mac, you could try quickpwn to enter DFU mode easier error 1600 usually related to a bad ipsw or one that is incompatible to your iPhone (whether it's due to software or hardware, or just a plain bad ipsw) good luck

but mine doesn't have that problem. it does take a hell of a long time to start up now. (at least 3 or 4 minutes...) (it used to be like 50 seconds)

you made a huge mistake making the IPSW meaning you either A) downloaded and loaded too much or B) it's somewhat corrupted a 3GS should never take more than a minute..... except a few times it might take a while due to it clearing everything, but not every time how long does it take you to respring?
