flybigjet How's the trip going now? Where are you, and what have you seen? Hopefully a little less eventful than day 1?

Saw a couple of bears, a bunch of eagles and a family of foxes. Nice to be where you *might* see a car once every couple of hours. Not much eventful to report.... except that my buddy somehow managed to punch a hole in the oil pan of his V-Rod. Since I'm more or less the car/motorcycle mechanic in our group of friends, I'm going to have to source a pan and gasket for a 22-year old bike that's no longer in production and then try to replace the pan without pulling the motor. I *think* I can get to everything I need to between the frame rails, but the back bolts will be tough. R.

Glad you made it back to home station safely without any other life threatening situations!
Damn... 8K+ miles in one trip....!?! I gotta get out more... I'm only racking up about 1K a year on my S1KRR, and most of that is just commuting... not really going out for fun like I used to a couple years ago 😔

Glad you didn't have a serious life threatening injury. Tewnty-five years ago I was hit by a car on I-95 in Ft. Lauderdale and I survived without a broken bone or single suture thanks to my protective gear. I remember surviving the impact and fall onto the highway, and thinking how was I going to avoid being hit by a car while doing the triple-lindie across four lanes. Suffice to say, I never rode again.
Stay safe out there.
