Hope this isn't anyone's car here.

I find it interesting that folks like this rear end. I can't understand why there needs to be so much going on with it. It's a design choice I think, can't see any functional reason. I don't want cars to be egg shaped and smooth but this just feels tacked on, and on, like an old Pontiac. The tapered shape makes me think it's like a mother animal about to pop out a baby cow or sheep, it's half way out but not quite all the way yet. I just don't get these at all.

If nothing else it's that thing about - in matters of taste there can be no dispute, or something. It's interesting how polarizing something like this can be.

For sure, BMW has been doing overly-contrived designs (front-ends too) for many years now.

It looks like a nice evolution of my F80 to be honest!

The stock rear end could be a little boring, but nothing beats a modded M1 from the rear. Too bad BMW had nothing to do with the styling.

Fake slip on tips make me think of my 73 Capri with ANSA slip ons. Fan of the M2 just not this aspect.

Fake slip on tips? They are slip on tips for the Dinan exhaust. They aren’t fake though, I can assure you that. This 100% reminds me of a capri too.

Sorry, but the silver clamps on black tips at that angle just look off, like some cheapy eBay special.

As for best BMW rear, not sure I could pick just one, but would definitely be the simpler designs.

M4 CS would be one of them though. Not the best picture, but you get the idea. M8 Comp great too.

My vote goes to the E60 and E63 M5 and M6. Those have aged quite well with an iconic rear fascia.

Gotta throw the F10 into the mix! IMO one of the most timeless designs of any of the modern BMWs. But I'm partial though...

Always wondered this, but why do some of you feel the need to mask your license plate? Just curious as it's there for everyone to see everyday on the road.
