Ya right, he took the time to make his op, then all this time to defend it (which wasn't the point of his thread anyways), and now you're implying he made it up? Now you're just being antagonistic on purpose!

I did and so did the 2 guys in the E60 M5... ha ha. Yeah, I know, but I know other ppl can relate...that's why I posted the thread since I almost didn't believe it myself. However, when you look at the timelsips for the E60 M5s running at our local 1/4 mi. track vs. my one and only timeslip this past June (1st time at the track too! ), I'm not far off at all (except for the trap speed of course); I guess it's possible for a PROcede 335i to run with an M5 through the 1/4 mi.

My timeslip and a couple '06 E60 M5 timeslips at the same track (although different nights, different conditions...yeah, I know); Post #39...

The fact here simple.

It is not matter who is the faster or who won a street race. What we can point out here is a e60 M5 or any other car in the same category could have a hard time with a procede 335.

Yeah, if I were making it up, why would I begin the post with ..."I was running a quick errand for my wife...?"

Maybe CEA (Charlie) can help us out here.

He raced his friend's E60 M5 multiple times and was dead even until 100mph.

Why is it so hard to believe for some people?

We all know that the M5 would walk us after 100mph.

But the 335 PROcede is not a slow car, it has a big torque advantage and 400 lbs lighter.

It's funny how all these people that don't own a 335 talk so much shit.

a.k.a -- ward, Ken B, and a couple more.

Yeah, I thought CEA and Walked U ran with a couple M5s in some videos...wasn't sure if they were E60s or E39s though and if they were modded or stock.

Folks need to take this story w/a grain of salt...

All it is is a STORY... it's not like the results of what happened at that particular time (whether true or false) will happen 100% of the time given similar/like conditions and circumstances. Do people realize this? This is just one instance for chrissake! Let the guy off some!

sflgator: I know you knew you'd get a little burned for posting such a story, so I seriously think you're wasting your breath (typing strength?) trying to defend and retort your story. The BS calls will always be there. Just don't make yourself look like an ass too by getting into the insult wars and personal attacks etc.

I'm not surprised he could "hang" with the m5. procede does 0-60 in mid to high 4's and m5 does it in low to mid 4's. What's the big deal? The M5 is fast but it's not going to completely romp on a proceded 335

it takes zero skill to plant the gas on the floor, especially when you're too lazy to even row your own gears

if that's what you care about, straight line slushbox draggin' there are faster and cheaper cars than a 335

it's all the braggin about stuff that requires no skill

No, if it were you, ward, I think you would have wet yourself and just sat there shaking, not saying a word.

those dragstrips clearly show how much faster the M5 is... it's 10 mph faster at the end of the 1/4

10 mph is HUGE

the overal times may be similar due to a better driver in the 335 (hey congrads to you if that's you, because the times for the 335 are close to the M5, even though the M5 was a much faster car)

on those slips, the M5 is a faster car but the 335 has a better driver

let's stick to trying to make points and having a discussion rather than making random personal insults that don't even make sense

Oh, I guess if I'm such a great driver, then why not believe me in this case?

btw -- those 2 timeslips were 2 different E60 M5s with different drivers on different nights; just the same track. My timelsip was of course on another night. I guess they both suck as drivers then, huh? And, yes, I admitted that the M5 1/4 mi. trapspeeds are much higher than mine (although my highest trap that night was 107.15mph).

Ok, but I couldn't resist; that was so funny, I thought.

i dont think the OP would go through all this sh-t for a made up story, i totally believe him! think about this, if you were driving the m5, and some guy in a 335 was playing with you, wouldn't you wanna show him what you got? and just pull away from him so his jaw would drop and eye brows would raise!?!
the answer is yes, you would be in p500 mode and pedal to the ground, you wouldnt race someone with 70% throttle...
and its funny how all those guys not believing drive 325s or 330s.
a little envious guys?

Yes, I edited the post on M5board to see if there are any volunteers in either Seattle or Florida....

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=102596

I think this would be a good race. The trapspeeds differences between stock M5 / M6s and the Proceed cars are 7-8 mph which means the cars are close in the quarter mile.

E90ice / SFGator, please feel free to post on M5board. There is a healthy dose of skeptism there as well so only vids can solve this....
