Had a Japanese market E46 M3 with a mini disc player. Never got to try it.

It's been decades since I spun vinyl.

Back in the '60's and '70's, I overhauled hundreds of record changers including VM (Voice of Music). I could still disassemble and
reassemble one of the those mofo's to this day.

Do you use that reamer to enlarge the spindleholes in the records when they don't quite fit on the spindle?

And that white metal (plastic?) thing next to your turntable, what's that?

You can see what I'm using in the picture I posted. Opted for form over function as I liked the look of the Crate and Barrel end tables. As I noted in my post, I do have my turntable sitting on Audioquest sorbethane pucks to help with vibration isolation.

I had the very first minidisc player Sony released into the US. Ended up returning it. Forget why. From what I've heard from various audio outlets, Philips' DCC (digital compact cassette) had the better audio compression algorithm where as obviously Sony had the better storage medium. It's too bad neither company could get over their differences to collaborate with the next generation audio platform as they did with the CD/SPDIF.

I ended up getting into DAT (digital audio tape). I still have a Sony TCD-D8 and a Sony PCM-M1. The D8 developed issues with the transport mechanism which I was intending on sending to a place that specializes in repairing DATs. But that was many years ago and the place is no longer around. I also had the D7 previous and I don't remember what happened with that unit. I think I had a bunch or reliability problems with it and I think Sony replaced it for the D8 I own now. As far as I know my M1 still works. It's in Sony's pro line and has the unique ability to turn off SCMS. It's also smaller size wise over the D8.

Nice, I never saw a battery operated one.

Not that I use an antistatic gun (I wash all my records and after that most static electricity is gone), but I always love the different paraphernalia that is available for playing records and how they differ in use, design and construction (and sometimes price )

I've also never seen that stylus cleaner.

No worry at all, .if you're old enough for these stuffs you would know ;-),

Anyway, its VPI table, one of my tables. The panels are done for acoustic room treatment, on the higher range of frequencies.

I think the question was directed at the electronic equipment wall mounted behind the turntable.

Another tid-bit of phono gadgetry. I remember my father taking a new album and spending lots of time on this work platter with brushes and fluids, cleaning and lubricating the vinyl, allowing the stylus to glide through the grooves.
