They dont care what you think, its all about a product that will make them $ and keep loyal customers interested and bring in new customers to the brand, you're opinion is literally as useful as tits on a bull.
I seriously doubt it would even come close to outselling Mustangs.

I would bet a Corolla GR would sell less units in a year, than Ford sells Mustangs in a month.

I can't see Toyota manufacturing this car in high volume.

Yep, if they actually bring it over here. I can't see a big market for a $40k Corolla. Even for enthusiasts.

Toyota most likely will even limit the amount they can sell just to sell them at MSRP or above. All manufacturers are much happier selling a mass volume car to a clueless family than to sell to some enthusiast with a million demands

Exactly. And you see a lot of "enthusiasts" who have the "That's too expensive, I'll wait 6 years when I can buy one used."

Not accepting that's why manufacturers continue to produce less and less fun cars because people won't put their money where their mouth is.

It will depend on how good it is. If it compares favorably to the GR Yaris it will be in demand if priced to compete with the Civic type R.

Honda has no probably selling their performance Civic for 40k+

I did. I put down a deposit on one of these. This will probably be one of the last of its kind so I didn't want to miss out.

That's because fritattas are OK paying ADM, which blows my mind.

I will never understand ADM. I just don't understand why anyone would just hand dealerships thousands of dollars for the privilege of doing their job as middle men. I suppose living in a country with over 300 million people there are going to be a lot of people that have so much money they don't care. It's not like that up here thankfully.

It's very regional in Canada and usually Ford who seems to have an ADM buyers culture though as you can easily find dealers across the country that aren't doing it. I know a guy at work that paid MSRP for his GT350. Same with Broncos as there's a dealership in Edmonton marking them up and a few in Ontario but you can get them at MSRP from other dealers. I have a deposit on a Bronco and my local dealer looked at me funny when I asked about any MSRP shenanigans as they don't do that. When a few Ford dealers in Alberta marked up the Focus RS, many buyers just waited them out and got them eventually for below MSRP. We just don't have enough wealthy people that are willing to pay a lot extra as our incomes are lower on average. If you pay ADM in Canada you simply didn't shop around.

That must be a Canada thing, CTR's are all selling well above MSRP. Even here in the middle of the country.

The dealership model in the US is screwed. I wanted to buy a Focus RS a few years ago, went in to 3 different Ford dealerships in the OKC area. They wouldn't even let me test drive one without a signed sales agreement. Even with them trying to sell them well above MSRP.

Sorry guy, I'm not signing a sales agreement on a $40k car that you won't even let me get behind the wheel. I can assure you my income/credit score isn't in question.

That's why we had so few sold. The same thing is happening with other sporty cars, dealers are tryin to rake customers over the coals, enthusiasts won't pay, then the cars get cancelled.

A fully loaded burrito under 3k lbs.

If it's truly getting the 1.6T 3cyl instead of a 2.0T, that alone might still push it over a hundred lbs or so.
Then there's the AWD fixings, so easily going to 3200-3300ish.

That being said even the wee baby Yaris is 2900.

From the guy who drives a car that weighs more than most mid-sized trucks built on a 20+ year old Merc platform.
