Subaru doesn’t make pretty, not sure why. The closest thing to pretty was the SVX.
The 08/09 does need few tweaks, most importantly taillight tints and of course like many cars the stock rims are boring or busy if you opt for the BBS rims. An inch or so lower with some window tint and it’s not bad. It’s a hatch though and no matter what you do it’s just not going to look as good as a coupe will. You are looking at function over form so what would you expect (Subaru does need to steal like 5 or so Audi designers)? I do have to say that while I like the 1 series it’s no beauty queen either. Now just image some Advan RS's, an inch lower, tint and a moderate front lip You can even get halos, which I intend to do: |

You overspent to buy the cheapest NEW BMW you could, that is often referred to as quite ugly itself, and then deliver an opinion designed to be insulting as though instead of it merely being a personal choice, it's an absolute universal fact. Lack of tact, man, lack of tact. It's the kind of attitude that GOT BMW owners labeled as assholes and cocks by the rest of the motoring world. And it makes it hard for those of us that own classic BMWs because we like them to get taken seriously when trying to have an automotive conversation. We're lumped in with the elitist cocks.

If Subaru changed to the hatch design to compete in WRC then they get a big FAIL, since Subaru dropped out of WRC as of this fall. |

They dropped out because FIA has become extremely lame as of late. The new WRC rules state that FIA will give you an engine/tranny/gearbox/all major parts of a car and the manufacturer has to tweak those however they want. Same rules still apply in the 300 hp and 2.0L engines, but eliminating the other parts just makes a lot of engineers obsolete. They also dropped out because of the economy. Prodrive asks for a lot!

Ugly as sin and I am a big Suby and STi fan. The just screwed up thinking sales wouldn't drop off. Buddy of mine that owns a Suby dealer said they will be bringing back the sedan STi in 2010.

Funny thing is I don't see 135i owners as BMW "cocks". Most bought it because its a relatively cheap high powered practical sports car. The typical 135i owner from what I see on 1addicts are ex Evo, Sti, RX8 etc owners with a few E46 M3, 330, 325 owners.
I did not buy my 135 for the badge, its a friggen quick car for the money and in Australia (pricing is very different to the US), the 135i is not that much more than a S3, STI or Evo. A 335 on the other hand is 50% more expensive ffs. And I agree, Current WRX is ugly, 06-07 looked much better |

That looks ten times better than the best modded 1er I've seen so far.

I wasn't much on the design at first but it's grown on me. Never thought the added practicality would be a big deal but it's come in handy so many times in just 2 months of ownership I don't know how I got along without it. |

You sure? i think the 135 look really nice with the m tech kit especially in black or white i think it is a very good looking compact sedan. In fact the 1 series resembles the original 3 series a lot more than the current 3 series does.
Personally i love stis but i have to say the new one is ugly and for those who called the op an asshole ( or is referring), well he isn't. On the other hand the ones who called op an asshole are probably the real assholes cause in our society everyone is entitled to their opinion and has the freedom to express their opinion. I believe a lot of new designs are bad and just because its new doesn't mean everyone has to force themselves into loving it. Some cars are ugly and thats just fact. The truth is if you put a 335 and sti side by side and even switch the badge most people will vote for the 335. Fact is fact the sub is ugly as shit.

It looks like a mazda 3 to me
You can feel what you want about the 1er at least its new and original. It has a break out look from all other current bmw models. The 1er was not the title of the post. I was posting about the New STI and how ugly and un unique it looks. It looks worse than a mazda 3. A modded mazda 3 looks better than a modded sti IMO. Im not talking about performance im talking about looks. New STI is dam ugly
If the mazda didnt have a emblem you would think they were the same freaking car.... have fun driving a mazda with a STI badge. LOL

IMO new STi looks very aggressive especially in white & black, I like it more than E82. If talking about ugly, nothing can beat the new TL!
